A new Single’s Inferno couple has formed. Years after meeting during filming, Season 3 stars Lee Gwan-hee and Yu Si-eun have revealed that they’re in a relationship.
On July 28, the new couple took to Instagram to share the exciting relationship development. “Thanks to the warm interest and support you have shown us, we have been quietly getting to know each other, and we are now reaching out to share our sincere feelings with you directly,” they wrote in their joint Instagram post, which was originally written in Korean. “We plan to continue cherishing and supporting one another as we nurture our relationship.”

The 29-year-old former Miss Korea and 38-year-old basketball player have been dating for eight months, they shared in a July 29 interview. They became friends after filming, and they started seeing each other romantically last year.
Si-eun gave more insight into the beginning of their relationship. “We started ‘flirting’ in September of last year and officially began dating in late November,” Si-eun told the Korean news outlet. “Since we are both cautious personalities, the ‘flirting’ phase lasted quite a long time.”
She went on to explain that they didn’t see each other often at the start because they were separated by distance, and Si-eun was busy with work. When Gwan-hee transferred to a new team, Seoul Samsung, they met up more often. “My house and his were about 15 minutes apart,” Si-eun said. “We met up, had tea, and joked around, becoming like dopamine to each other. From then on, we grew close very quickly.”
Si-eun felt they “shouldn’t rush into dating” after developing a strong friendship. She said of the transition, “It turned out he didn’t drink or smoke and was a very conscientious person. We shared the same religion, and his lifestyle habits were very wholesome. I realized that you really need to get to know someone over time, and that’s when my heart opened.”
During Season 3, Si-eun ended up in a couple with Choi Min-woo, while Kwan-hee was with Choi Hye-seon. Neither started dating officially once filming ended. Si-eun never gave an update on where she stood with Min-woo post-show, while Gwan-hee shared a YouTube video shortly after the premiere explaining that he and Hye-seon had called it quits due to distance, per AsiaOne.
