Rory Scovel is back with a new Netflix comedy special, Show Must Go On, his first since 2024’s Religion, Sex, and a Few Things in Between.
The 46-year-old comedian doesn’t shy away from pulling inspiration from his personal life for his material, and Show Must Go On is no exception. “Anything that’s happened in my home successfully is because my wife basically did it,” he says in his new hour.

On Mother’s Day in 2019, Rory wrote on Instagram, “I honestly don’t know that the words do any justice to how amazing this person is. “My dad passed away during COVID,” Rory said. “When I came back from the funeral in South Carolina, where no one was taking any precautions at all, my wife and my neighbor set me up in this back apartment with canvases and paints. I was in solitude for nine days, mourning and in quarantine, so they were just like, ‘Here you go, if you want to make something!'”
Rory also has shared sweet messages for his daughter online. “I love this kid to no end,” he said on Instagram. “I didn’t know how much she would make my heart grow and I still can’t believe this overwhelming love. It’s sooo much and it’s so great. She has given me the greatest gift I never knew I needed and that was to face myself and work on me so that I could be the best I could be for her.”
