What To Know

  • Erik Linder and Briar Nolet are dating after meeting on Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro.
  • In an interview with Swooon, Erik revealed the major step he recently took in the relationship.
  • He also dished on how the romance began after filming ended.

Briar Nolet and Erik Linder may not have won Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro, but they still walked away from the experience with something special: a relationship! The pair started dating after returning home from filming in Australia, and Erik gave Swooon an update on their romance.

It’s only been a few months since the show wrapped filming in May, but Erik has already made a major move to make the relationship work.

“I actually moved to L.A.,” Erik, who was previously living in Florida, told Swooon. “Honestly, it’s really nice. I like California a lot.” While he didn’t specify that he made the move for Briar, she also lives in Los Angeles.

Briar previously revealed that Erik DMed her before filming began, which is how they started talking. However, they didn’t meet in person until they were in Australia. Briar was the first contestant eliminated, and Erik made the first move once he was sent home in Episode 5.

“On the show, we were so focused on the show. And prior to her leaving Week 1, in our minds, we were expecting to be there and get to know each other more,” Erik explained. “And then it was like, oh, gone. Oh, wow. So it was in my head, obviously, I wanted to get to know her more. And we met on the show within the first few days. And then it was one of those things when, after I left, I was like, ‘OK, let’s go to L.A. and let’s see Briar, and I’ll go see how it is.’ And I went, we met up, I visited L.A., and then we clicked really, really fast. And next thing you know, we progressed, and now we are where we are!”

Erik and Briar aren’t officially working together professionally at this point, but they often share videos of themselves dancing with each other on social media.

“We come from different worlds,” Erik pointed out. “So she’s very established in the commercial contemporary/jazz background, and she’s new to ballroom, and I’m flipped. So I have a lot of roots, and I’ve established myself in the ballroom world, but I have very little contemporary and jazz. So we’re trading off. We’re working with each other in opposite ways. So we’re doing a lot of collaborations and just making videos and doing things. So it’s nice to work with someone who comes from a different position from you. But yeah, we’re working together very well.”
