The 8-episode series is described as “dark, seductive, and unapologetically strange — gothic in its bones and electric in its romance.” Sid & Zoey is centered around Sid, a sophisticated and amoral teenager from New York who is forced to move to the Mississippi town where his mom grew up. He has to live with the town’s police chief and his sharp, punky daughter, Zoey. As Sid and Zoey try to resist their attraction to one another, they find a dark, supernatural world in their town’s underbelly. Count us in.
Who is making Sid & Zoey?
Jon Kasdan is behind the concept, and he’ll also serve as showrunner and executive producer. He also held all three titles on the 2022 Disney+ series Willow. Kasdan wrote the screenplay for the 2012 rom-com The First Time and 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Serving as co-showrunner, co-EP, and writer is Ozark‘s John Shiban (Ozark). The executive producers are Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich for Bad Robot, as well as Blum, Wan, and Rob Hackett for Blumhouse Atomic Monster.
