Candace Cameron Bure Shares How She Plans to Be a ‘Fun’ Grandma

Candace Cameron Bure has a lot to look forward to this year, but above all else, she’s most excited about becoming a grandmother for the first time. The Full House alum’s daughter, Natasha Bure, is currently pregnant with her first child, while her son Lev Bure’s wife, Elliott, is also expecting.
After turning 50 in April, Cameron Bure tells Swooon she “can’t wait” for this next chapter with her growing family.
“I’ve been waiting for this for so long,” she admits. “It’s so exciting and beautiful to watch your children become parents, and I have so much love inside of me that I cannot wait just to express when the grandkids come. It’s like … I just want to be a fun grandma.”
As for how she plans to do just that, the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test recruit adds, “I want them to be over all the time. I want to eat lots of ice cream together and go to the park and just do all the fun things that grandparents get to do. I had my turn parenting, and that’s when you do all the hard stuff, and grandparenting just feels like we get the benefits of all the fun things.”
Cameron Bure also reflects on how her kids told her and her husband, Valeri Bure, that they were expecting.
“There is a video online of when our daughter, Natasha, and her husband, Bradley, shared the news with us, and we were on winter vacation together,” she recalls. “And they just had a little onesie and booties that were hanging out on a chair in their room. So they were like, ‘Oh, come to our room. We want to show you something.’ And as soon as I saw the little baby onesie, I knew what it meant and couldn’t believe it. Absolutely freaked out, so excited.”
Lev and Elliott dropped the news in a “very casual conversation,” Cameron Bure reveals. “They threw it in there just to see if we’d pick up on it,” she smiles. “It was like, ‘Well, Elliott can’t have a glass of wine because she’s pregnant, but we’ll be doing this and that and that.’ And it was like, ‘Wait, what? What did you just say?'”
As 2026 winds down, Cameron Bure is looking forward to some time off where she can “just enjoy the holidays with my grandkids” before she starts “making movies again in the new year.”
