The 2025 awards season is kicking off with the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. Music’s hottest stars have assembled in New York for a memorable night of performances, acceptance speeches, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award (which Mariah Carey will be receiving), and more.

Forget about the US Open. For many celebrities, they’ve made the VMAs the date night out.

Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson were among the first celebrity couples to walk the VMAs red carpet together. Jersey Shore (and therefore MTV) stars Mike Sorrentino and Pauly D were joined by their significant others.

VMAs host LL Cool J walked the red carpet with his longtime wife, Simone Smith, by his side. The couple slayed in coordinating plaid outfits before heading inside so the NCIS: Los Angeles alum could prepare for the ceremony.
