The When Calls the Heartprequel is on its way, taking us back to a time before Hope Valley or even Coal Valley! Hope Valley: 1874, which premieres on March 21, follows Rebecca Clarke (Bethany Joy Lenz), a single mother whose wagon breaks down in the Western Canadian frontier, forcing her to accept help from the local community, including rancher Tom Moore (Benjamin Ayres) and pioneer woman Hattie Quinn (Jill Hennessy).
Of course, When Calls the Heart viewers already know that the Hope Valley area, even before it had its name, is the perfect place for romance. With a “confirmed bachelor” Tom Moore in the mix, things are bound to get romantic. Plus, it’s clear that Hattie’s daughter, Olivia (Roan Curtis), has her own love story ahead with either the area’s new Mountie, Constable Alexander Vaughn (Lachlan Quarmby), who’s just arrived in town, or the local blacksmith, Clayton (Jedidiah Goodacre), whom she’s known all her life.
