5 ‘My Life with the Walter Boys’ Questions We Need Answered in Season 3

Netflix

In My Life with the Walter Boys, Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez) makes quite a few messy choices, particularly when it comes to her love triangle with Walter brothers Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex (Ashby Gentry). Why anyone would get entangled with brothers while living under the same roof as them is a question we’ve asked ourselves for two seasons. Not to say we don’t eat it up and won’t be glued to our screens come Season 3.

That’s not the only question we’ve been asking ourselves. The Season 2 finale ends on a shocking cliffhanger. An ambulance rolls up just as Cole and Jackie finally say they love each other, not knowing Alex is listening. In just under a month, we’ll get a much-needed update on the fate of the Walter clan and their friends and love interests. But in the meantime, we can muse on all the loose ends we need to get insight on ASAP.

1. Will George be OK?

Patriarch George Walter (Marc Blucas) has a medical emergency at the end of Season 2 — he’s the one the ambulance is there for. What exactly has happened to him? Would the YA drama go as far as to kill off another person in Jackie’s life after her parents and sister died in a car crash? Probably not, but we’ll never say never. Either way, George’s emergency is sure to cause problems for a family already having money problems.

2. Does Kiley still have feelings for Alex?

We found out Kiley (Mya Lowe) has a crush on her bestie Alex in Season 1, but in Season 2, she has an unlikely romance with jock Dylan (Kolton Stewart). Meanwhile, Alex is still preoccupied with Jackie, and his rodeo coach Blake (Natalie Sharp) even shows interest in him. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any hint of a possible romance between Kiley and Alex, who grow apart as friends. Is there any chance Walter Boys is playing the slow burn long game with the two, or has it run its course? Is there any chance Kiley even still has feelings for Alex after everything? Plus, she has a good thing going with Dylan, anyway. We’re not sure this show needs yet another love triangle, but that’s just our opinion.

3. Will Alex finally move on from Jackie?

Surely, Jackie and Cole’s mutual love confession has to be the nail in the coffin for Alex and Jackie. Right? Then again, showrunner Melanie Halsall told us after the Season 2 finale, “Our show is always a love triangle. It’s based on a love triangle. It’s based on romance. And so for the moment, that’s the core of our show. So for the moment, that’s not going to change.”

(This isn’t healthy, Alex. We hope you move on in Season 3.)

4. Will Cole and Jackie date?

Now that their feelings are out there, will Cole and Jackie be together? We wonder if they’ll pump the breaks to spare Alex’s feelings, at least as much as they’re able to after that bombshell revelation. Plus, it seems like bad timing to get together when your dad (or father figure in Jackie’s case) is recovering from a health scare. That’s drama that nobody needs. (Though, as viewers, we’d welcome it.)

5. Will Skylar and Nathan get back together?

Nathan (Corey Fogelmanis) gives Jackie a run for her money with his messy love life in Season 2. Considering how horribly Nathan treats his then-boyfriend Skylar (Jaylan Evans) in Season 2, we wonder if there’s a way back for the two of them. Skylar says Nathan’s insecurities don’t excuse him for cheating with Zach (Carson MacCormac). But Skylar does admit he still loves Nathan. He just can’t trust him. What can Nathan do to prove himself to Skylar? We’re eager to find out.
