Jennifer “Jen” Affleck is the most famous Affleck in Hollywood right now. In the midst of the ongoing success of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which returns for Season 3 in November, Jen is currently on Dancing With the Stars Season 34, competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy with new pro Jan Ravnik. Jen’s journey on the show so far hasn’t been easy, especially after getting sick ahead of Week 5’s Dedication Night. Despite the challenges she has faced, Jen’s fans have kept her in the competition.

The 26-year-old debuted on DWTS just a couple of months after welcoming her third child. Ahead of Halloween Night on October 28, Jen was candid about experiencing “postpartum blues” while competing. “Depression can’t hit a moving target,” she captioned an  Instagram video. Her husband, Zac Affleck, responded, “Depression sees Jen and Jan coming and runs for its life. You got this baby!”

The past couple of years have been a roller coaster for the MomTok member. From a new baby to stepping away from Mormon Wives to questions about her connection to the Hollywood Afflecks, all eyes have been on Jen. Scroll down for a full guide to Jen’s husband, family, and more.

Who is Jen Affleck married to?

The 26-year-old MomToker met her now-husband, Zac Affleck, when she was just 18 years old on a Mormon dating app called Mutual. The two grew together in their faith, and Jen opened up on Instagram about having sex before marriage and drinking, which Mormons typically abstain from. Zac proposed to Jen in New York City in January 2019. They married that same year.

During the first season of Mormon Wives, Jen and Zac’s marriage faced many obstacles, including Zac’s reaction to Jen attending a Chippendales show on a girls’ night out. “He said he doesn’t want to be married to me if I do stuff like this,” Jen said on the show.

Following the first season, Jen acknowledged that “changes” needed to be made in her marriage. “If they’re not made, we might have to … look at other options,” Jen told Vulture. “But as of right now, I do think he’s trying his best to make those changes.”

At the start of Season 2, Jen revealed that she and Zac had separated. “As for my relationship with Zac, it’s been a few months of straight hell since Vegas,” she said. “Currently, we are separated. I never thought I would get to this point. I’ve decided to come back to Utah and be back with MomTok.”

The couple was still working on their marriage when Jen found out she was pregnant with their third child. “I’m just scared because I’m not the person I want to be before bringing in another child,” Jen admitted on Mormon Wives when she got a positive pregnancy test. “I’m sad for this child because I don’t even know where my marriage is at.” Jen and Zac have since emerged stronger than ever.

In September 2024, Jen penned a lengthy Instagram post about her marriage to Zac. “We were just kids when we got married. Young, naive, and inexperienced, we truly had no idea what we were getting ourselves into,” Jen began. She noted that they “didn’t always see eye to eye, and a lot of times, we still don’t. But that’s what marriage is, we keep trying. I truly believe there were lessons we both needed to teach each other.”

Throughout Dancing With the Stars Season 34, Zac has been so supportive of Jen’s journey. On October 7, Jen shared an appreciation post for her husband. “He’s the one who checks that l’ve actually eaten breakfast, who reminds me to sleep and makes sure I get real rest. What you don’t see are all the quiet ways he keeps us going-cooking, cleaning, kid duty, and those late-night shifts with Penny. This journey truly wouldn’t be possible without him, and for that, I am forever grateful,” she gushed.

Ahead of Dedication Night, Jen got sick and missed several days of rehearsals. She powered through for her performance with her mom. After the episode, Zac surprised Jen in her dressing room. Zac decorated the dressing room with photos of Jen from over the years and posters their kids made. He also hung up screenshots of sweet messages from fans to Jen.

“The sweetest surprise after such a hard, long week of being sick. I love you @zacaffleck. After hours reading your messages, I can’t put into words the love and gratitude l feel. Your words are carrying me through this journey. Love you all,” she wrote on Instagram.

Is Jen related to Ben Affleck?

When Jen started promoting Mormon Wives Season 1, she claimed that Ben and Casey Affleck were second cousins of Zac’s dad, Dave Affleck.

“We aren’t connected to [Ben]. In fact, my husband has never even met him,” she previously told TV Insider. “He is a distant cousin. He is actually my husband’s dad’s second cousin. Only his dad has met him once when he was very little. It’s more of a joke than an actual family relative. Technically, celebrity blood runs through his veins.”

However, viewers began to question the validity of the familial connection. During Season 2 of Mormon Wives, Jen and Zac addressed the situation. “You’re not gonna make me feel stupid when that’s all I’ve been told from your family,” Jen told Zac. He replied, “No one’s ever taken it seriously until you ran with it.”

Zac later added, “I have no idea if I am or am not related to Ben Affleck, and that had been, like, a running joke in my family. It’s never been something serious. And so, when Jen started telling people that, I did tell her, ‘I don’t think you should say that anymore. I think that’s probably gonna backfire.'”

Making light of the drama, Jen and Ben starred in a new Dunkin’ Donuts ad together, in which Jen declared herself the “Value Affleck.”

Does Jen have kids?

Jen and Zac have three kids together. Their first child, daughter Nora, was born in 2021 when Jen was 21. Their son, Luca, was born in 2023. The couple welcomed their child, daughter Penelope, in July 2025.

Ahead of Wicked Night on October 21, Jen shared rare details about her past. “If you’ve ever felt different, left out, or not enough, I’m with you,” she wrote on Instagram. “I felt it moving to new schools, not making cheer or dance company, becoming a mom at a young age, and growing up in a low-income Latina family in an all-white, wealthy high school. I did everything I could to fit in. But if I could go back, I’d tell my younger self: the things that make you different will carry you the farthest.”

What does Jen do for a living?

The social media star has made a career out of her hobby. Jen is currently an influencer. She has over two million followers on TikTok. Since the explosion of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Jen has had many brand deals with Dunkin’ Donuts, Bio-Oil, and more.

In July 2024, Jen revealed that Zac had graduated from Brigham Young University’s medical school. “It’s been a long and challenging journey with two little ones, but we did it!” she wrote. “I couldn’t be prouder of you and all the hard work you’ve put in. Excited for this new adventure that awaits!”

Why did Jen leave The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2?

While Jen and Zac will be returning for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 3, which is set to premiere on November 13, they were not heavily featured in Season 2.

She decided to take a break from filming during the second season for her mental health. At the Season 2 reunion, Jen revealed that she was dealing with prenatal depression when she took her break.

“Looking back and thinking about all of season 2, to be honest, it’s a bit of a blur just because I was barely surviving,” she said. “And I dealt with a lot of suicide ideation. It’s really hard to talk about, but that was definitely one of the hardest times of life, and I felt like I couldn’t turn to anyone.” Jen noted at the time she was “doing way better” after her much-needed hiatus.
