Jordan Fisher Reacts to BookTok’s 8 Wildest ‘ACOTAR’ Theories

Jordan Fisher knows his ACOTAR. The actor/singer/reader extraordinaire has read Sarah J. Maas’ best-selling novel series, along with her other novels, and is heavily invested in the characters and what the future holds.

Maas has released four novels (and one novella) in her A Court of Thorns & Roses book series, and she’s not done yet. Naturally, as we await the sixth book, BookTok has started churning out theories about everything from mates to an eighth court. When Fisher stopped by Swooon, we had him respond to some notable ACOTAR theories.

Fisher, a self-professed Tamlin hater, was not a fan of the Elain and Tamlin are mates theory. “Gross is probably my reaction,” he said. However, he didn’t completely throw away the possibility that Amarantha and Tamlin were mates, but he rejected the bond.

“In my mind, I would have to figure out how much of a connection that he would have to the Cauldron, like based on what his lineage is and who he’s related to that would even give him the breadth of power to be able to reject a bond with somebody as powerful as Amarantha and stay alive,” he noted before adding, “That’s one that I could bite into.”

The book lover had a very enthusiastic reaction to the theory that there’s an eighth court called the Dusk Court, and Nesta (“that’s my girl”) will eventually rule over it. “For all my Crescent City girlies out there, what does that mean where Danika is concerned? Does that tie Danika and her lineage up with Nesta in some way? Man, that could be so cool, too. Danika and Nesta would love each other.”

He also doesn’t trust Mor. Fisher was inclined to believe the theory that Azriel has never been in love with Mor. “I’ve got Mor on the sus list,” he said. “I’ve had Mor on the sus list for forever. I don’t like the way that she maneuvers.”

As for Azriel, Fisher thinks the beloved character is “meant to be with somebody that is not in the ACOTAR landscape. I think that that is predetermined, and I think that he is also Starborn in some capacity.”

There’s a wild theory on the interweb that Rhys is actually evil. Fisher’s not on board with that. “I think that it’s easy to forget why he’s functioning the way that he is, how he’s acting and whatnot because we’re not with him at really his most critical time, like the time where everything hangs in the balance [with] him and his mate and their safety and the safety of their unborn babe. There’s so much that’s going on through his mind, and I think that that really like icked people, which makes sense, especially because this [A Court of Silver Flames] is not his and Feyre’s story. It’s Nesta and Cassian’s.”
