Another Finding Mr. Christmas hunk went home for the holidays in the November 28 episode. The contestants were tasked with an emotional acting challenge. As the remaining Hallmark hopefuls got in touch with their feelings, some excelled while others fell short.

Jonathan Wells forgot his first line during the scene. He recovered after a pause and finished out his lines with ease. However, when up against the other four merry men, Jonathan’s rebound couldn’t save him from elimination. The Hallmark hunk spoke with Swooon about having to go home for the holidays.

“I knew my mistake. So, at that point in the competition, we’re on Episode 6. We’re 75 percent done with this. We know it’s coming to an end, and every decision is pretty critical,” Jonathan said. “Any minor mess up could eliminate you, so I was in preparation that, unless some other guys made a mistake where their plate was flipping, I was probably going to be on thin ice. But I was hoping that some of the rebounding and some of the redemption that I’ve made during that scene would have saved me. It just wasn’t enough.”

Jonathan admitted he was “really excited” for the acting challenge because he could show off his acting skills. However, his s’mores fumble messed with his head on that one take. “If I would have had a second take, I would have went in there and did pretty well,” he said.

Despite forgetting his first line for a moment, Jonathan was proud of how he handled the situation. “Since I stayed in scene, executed, and rebounded, I showed a lot of my strengths in there,” he admitted.

He didn’t win Finding Mr. Christmas, but Jonathan still walked away with some incredible friendships. “That’s why I think it’s a win-win situation,” the aspiring actor continued. “Even though you got eliminated, you’re still left with a family of brothers with the Hallmark family. I think that was just a blessing within itself.”

Looking back, the Hallmark+ series had such a positive impact on him. “I think it put me in a lot of pressure situations. I think it showed me how I can show up and compete, how I can be a real influential and impactful player in this game of entertainment,” he said.
