American Idol Season 21 winner Iam Tongi shared some happy news this December.

This time, it’s actually not about new music, although that is for sure in the Hawaii native’s future. The “Why Kiki?” singer has played several shows all over the country in 2024 and has no plans of stopping in 2025. From December 27 to December 31, he has a residency in Honolulu, Hawaii, at the Blue Note, where he’ll play two gigs a day.

Instead, he took to Instagram to post about the exciting milestone he and his girlfriend, Leah, celebrated. Tongi gushed about their anniversary in a sweet montage.

Tongi jokingly captioned his post with, “1 year ago you forced me to ask you out, nah nah 😂😂jk jk, I love you babe, forever.”

The slideshow included some pictures of the two embracing each other, as well as some shots of just his love. Not much is known about Leah, who replied, “Happy anniversary myhandsome , I love you more ❤️.”

The American Idol champ has previously shared photos and videos of his girlfriend. She has been to plenty of his concerts, which are documented on his social media accounts.

On November 22, Tongi released his latest track, a cover of “Silent Night” alongside the Rexburg Children’s Choir. Prior to that, he had a hit with his own song, “Monsters.” That track currently has over 10 million streams on just Spotify alone.

The American Idol winner has been charming hearts ever since he was a contestant on the singing show. During his journey on the show, he opened up about moving away from Hawaii and losing his dad, who inspired him to pick up music. The 20-year-old singer was crowned the Season 21 winner in 2023.
