Who Did Liza End Up With on ‘Younger’? How the Finale Wrapped Up Her Love Triangle
It’s been almost five years since Younger came to an end after a seven-season run, and the show is having a major resurgence after being added to Netflix in 2025. Throughout the show, viewers watched Liza (Sutton Foster) dabble in romances with Josh (Nico Tortorella) and Charles (Peter Hermann), only to be alone by the time the final season rolled around (Charles wanted marriage, Liza didn’t).
While Season 7 was all about Liza finding herself and her place in the publishing industry, she ended up reconciling with Charles in the penultimate episode when he told her he loved her and decided not to get on a plane to Mustique with his girlfriend, Quinn (Laura Benanti).

Who did Liza end up with on Younger?
Liza’s story ended a bit arbitrarily, but all signs point toward her possibly ending up with … Josh! That’s right, things once again proved they weren’t meant to work out with Charles, leading Liza to a bar where she ran into her ex, just like the first night they met.
It was quite a turnaround, as Liza and Charles were saying “I love you” to each other earlier in the episode following their reconciliation. However, they eventually came to a sad realization in bed one night: “We’re not going to make it.”
It was an amicable breakup, though. With Charles off to a writing retreat that Liza submitted him for, he needed someone to run Empirical Press in his absence, and he chose Liza to do it.

After getting the good news, Liza met up with her friends at a bar and found herself struggling to get the bartender’s attention. Josh swooped in to help. “I didn’t see you there,” Liza told him, with Josh replying, “Really? Because I’ve been right here, by your side all along.” Swoon!
Who did Kelsey end up with on Younger?
Kelsey’s (Hilary Duff) story wrapped up in more of a conclusive way. She finished the show as a single woman.
Kelsey spent most of Season 7 in a casual relationship with Rob (Steven Good), the ex-boyfriend of Clare (Phoebe Dynevor), who’s the mother of Josh’s baby. However, it all came crashing down in the finale. When Kelsey set out to leave Empirical and sell her app-based publishing platform, Inkubator, for a hefty sum, Rob wanted to collect 20 percent from whatever deal she ended up taking because he gave her the contacts to make the sale.
When Kelsey scoffed at the suggestion, Rob made things worse by telling her, “You know if I was offering this deal to a guy there wouldn’t even be question. I just feel like you want special privileges for being a woman. No offense.”

That was all Kelsey needed to here. She dumped him right then and there. “You can take your percentage and shove it up your misogynistic ass,” Kelsey said. It all worked out in the end, though, as Hello Sunshine agreed to back Inkubator, which meant Kelsey was on the move to Los Angeles.
Who did Lauren end up with on Younger?
Lauren (Molly Bernard) was ready to reunite with her doctor ex Max (Ben Rappaport), only to find out that he was engaged to a man named Greg (Josh Cooke). Greg informed Lauren that she was the one who pushed Max to be “exactly who he is,” and she had a proposition for them.
“I would be more than happy to get behind both of you. Are you open?” she asked. The men very much were open, as Lauren later dished all about their escapades with the girls. However, she clarified that she was not in a “throuple,” telling Liza, “I’m free and happily non-heteronormative.”
Who did Maggie end up with on Younger?
In the finale, Maggie (Debi Mazar) went on a date with her former nemesis Cass (Janeane Garofalo). Although Cass previously had Maggie canceled for a show she put on decades earlier, she ended up helping to relaunch her art career in the final season.
Maggie eventually agreed to go on a date with Cass. They sealed the deal with a kiss and letting each other know that they “really like” one another.
