Get to Know Ollie Sutherland, ‘Love Is Blind’ Fave AD Smith’s New Fiancé
Move over, Giannina Gibelli and Blake Horstmann, another star crossover duo has emerged. We’re talking about Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland. Technically part of the same franchise, AD took part in Season 6 of the hit show, while Ollie was one of the contestants on Love Is Blind: UK‘s debut installment.
Both were engaged during their stints on Love Is Blind shows, yet neither one of their relationships lasted. However, fate brought them together on another Netflix series. That still counts as a Love Is Blind win! Scroll down to learn more about Ollie and his relationship with AD.
Who is Ollie Sutherland?
The British 33-year-old admitted to typically going for “Instagram hot” girls before his time on Love Is Blind: UK. Wanting to change up the strategy, the software salesperson jumped at the opportunity to participate in a more meaningful dating process.
Not finding his forever person in the pods, Sutherland lucked out as Smith has “shared values and similar outlooks on life,” while also being as beautiful as the aforementioned “Instagram hot” type. Smith did mention that their time on the series helped as they had “super intentional conversations” during the dating phase of their relationship.
Who did Ollie date on Love Is Blind: UK?
Ollie got engaged to Demi Brown, but the two struggled on their way to the altar. With lots of ups and downs, she eventually made the decision to say “I don’t.”
After his time on Love Is Blind: UK concluded, he dated another contestant, Sharlotte Ritchie. Their romance was short-lived.
AD met Clay Gravesande in the pods during Love Is Blind Season 6 and got engaged. Their engagement came to a dramatic end at their wedding.
How did Ollie and AD meet?
After their Love Is Blind experiences, they weren’t done with dating shows quite yet. Wanting to meet their life partner as soon as possible, they went on to join the Perfect Match Season 3 cast.

A first look at Season 3 was shown during the Love Is Blind Season 8 reunion, but the couple had a surprise in store for fans. They’re engaged!
The clip that came after the Perfect Match first look featured Ollie leading AD to a spot on the beach. He surprised her with a romantic proposal. “You’re my best friend. You’re the love of my life. I’ve never felt as happy as I have since I’ve met you,” Ollie said as he got down on one knee. “Nothing would make me happier than spending the rest of my life loving you.”
He went on to pop the question. A big smile appeared on AD’s face. She squealed and quickly accepting his proposal and sharing a kiss with her new fiancé.
Prior to attending the reunion together, they hadn’t confirmed their relationship. However, rumors had been swirling online that they were dating. Perfect Match fans will get to see their relationship blossom over the course of Season 3, which will air this summer.
Where is Ollie from?
Like his Love Is Blind: UK association gives away, Ollie hails from the United Kingdom. The Londoner has also opened up about his background. Proud of his Jamaican heritage, he even put the Jamaican and British flags in his Instagram bio. AD lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
