Love Is Blind has a new power couple! No, we’re not talking about Taylor Haag and Daniel Hastings, the only couple to say “I do” at the altar from the latest installment. We’re talking about that Love Is Blind and Love Is Blind: UK crossover!

Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland announced their relationship at the Love Is Blind Season 8 reunion. They also treated fans to a video that featured Sutherland getting down on one knee and proposing to Smith.

Hopping onto Smith’s podcast, What’s the Reality?, the two talked in-depth about their romance. Smith began the taping by telling her audience, “I am joined today by a very handsome, a very special guest, and I am actually very excited to announce that this guest is my fiancé.”

However, they weren’t allowed to talk much about how exactly their relationship began. Meeting on the third season of the Netflix dating show Perfect Match, the 34-year-old Charlotte native reiterated, “They know we met on Perfect Match,” and added, “We can’t talk about that at all.”

Luckily, they found a loophole and were able to share some details about their romance and what’s next. “But we can talk about how much we love each other,” she said. They could also chat about their engagement. “We can talk about how you tricked me,” Smith jokingly said, referring to the beach proposal.

The filming of the episode happened exactly a week after she said “yes” to Sutherland’s proposal. Or did she? According to Sutherland, that’s not exactly what happened. Yet, even without saying the word, he knew what she meant. “I just took your hysteria as a ‘yes,'” he told her. He further divulged, “You gave me enough positive body language.”

Surprising her on a beach, the twosome walked to a romantic display on the sand, which was decorated with a carved-out heart and rose petals under the guise of Perfect Match promo. Although Smith wasn’t aware of what was about to happen, she still shared her concerns about going public. “I am no genius, but I’ve been in this industry long enough to know that, like, we shouldn’t be anything together before the show airs,” she noted.

Confused about their plans, Smith didn’t buy a new dress until the last day and attested that she wanted to wear jeans and a top. Sutherland pushed her to get a dress for the outing. He said, “Pretend this is a dress you’ll wear for the rest of your life.” Now, she is overjoyed she took his advice.

To execute his vision, the Perfect Match team helped the Brit. Cheering along as the two entered the next phase of their relationship, Sutherland admitted to not having been able to pull that off by himself. He exclaimed, “I love it when a plan comes together. It was very A-Team.”

Sutherland knows that the months-long planning process paid off. “Best decision I ever made,” he gushed. Now that their relationship is public, Sutherland and Smith are excited for their next chapter. They talked about the “ambitious” plans ahead of them. Smith and Sutherland want to get married soon and even have a date in mind. Not sharing that with the world yet. Sutherland did reveal that they are planning two weddings. “[We’re getting] married here in the States so that, obviously, your family can be there and share the experience,” Sutherland explained. “And then some of my people will still come.”

He added, “For those who can’t, I want a big thing in the U.K. as well so that those who couldn’t make it to the stateside one can make it to the U.K. one. Plus, it gives us an excuse to have two big ceremonies, which I’m looking forward to.”
