Guy Fieri is proud of his family unit. The Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host and his wife, Lori Fieri, have two sons, Hunter and Ryder. While the youngest one is at college in San Diego, the older fella works with Guy.

The 57-year-old attended the South Beach Wine & Food Festival and spoke to PEOPLE about his sons, stating that they are his “best friends.” Talking about Hunter, he gushed about his son’s enormous work ethic as well as the impending nuptials that are going to follow soon. Guy’s oldest is about to tie the knot to fiancée Tara Bernstein. The couple has been engaged since Thanksgiving 2023 and are slated to make things official later this year.

The soon-to-be bride and groom are scheduling their wedding to be held at Guy’s sprawling ranch in Santa Rosa, California. The Fieri wedding is going to be a big one, Guy revealed. “They’re both such big personalities, and they both have a lot of friends,” Guy said. “I mean, that’s the toughest thing. [How] those two [will] whittle it down to 350. I have no clue.”

However, Guy has made it clear that he doesn’t want to take over the wedding planning. “I am just in that capacity of call me when you need me. Because that’s their dream, their thing, their deal,” he previously shared with PEOPLE. “I’ve been doing my responsibilities of getting the ranch to tip-top shape.”

However, he does have one piece of advice for them. “I tell them that it’s their day and it’s their time,” he said. “I just hope that they make it their choices, and not get steered by anybody else of how it needs to be. I just want them to be in the moment.” He continued, “Sounds very Northern California hippie-ish of me, but that’s what my little sister Morgan would always say to me is just, ‘Be in the moment. Make sure that it’s you and it’s what you want. And don’t make it somebody else’s wedding. It’s your wedding.'”

Something he does have a clear say over is Hunter’s job in the family business. Divulging all the positive attributes Hunter has he said, “Hunter’s doing really good on TV. He continues to gain confidence.”

Speaking about the future, the television personality even sees Hunter taking over his role. “I don’t know that I’ll do Triple D forever,” he quipped. “Maybe he’ll take it over. We’ll see. But it’s pretty great.”
