Off Campus may revolve around the ice, but it’s coming in hot. At long last, Prime Video has revealed when viewers will be able to dive into the college hockey romance.
Based on Elle Kennedy’s best-selling book series of the same name, the TV show adaptation has been teasing fans with new content for months. We got a flirty first look at the main couple, exciting glimpses of the core four leading men — in their hockey gear, no less — and more all the way up until premiere date announcement in February 2026. And that’s not all the streamer shared: Off Campus has already been renewed for Season 2.
Fans have been eager for a TV series based on Kennedy’s beloved romances ever since her first Off Campus book, The Deal, was released in 2015. They got their wish when it was announced in October 2024, along with the casting of Season 1 leads Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli. They’re playing Hannah and Garrett, Briar University students who fall in love after they start fake dating. Garrett is the star center for the hockey team, and his teammates get their own love stories in Kennedy’s subsequent books.
If you love hot hockey players, snarky female main characters, and plenty of heat, look no further. Off Campus is bound to be Prime Video’s next big hit, and based on its early renewal, the streamer appears to agree. When is the Off Campus TV series coming out?
You don’t have to wait until the fall for Off Campus to start. It drops on Prime Video in May 2026.
“I have been sitting on this news for what feels like forever, and it’s been SO HARD to not spill the beans!” Kennedy wrote on Instagram in October 2024 when the TV news was confirmed. “But I’m beyond thrilled to finally announce that @amazonmgmstudios and Temple Hill are developing the OffCampus series for television.”
She continued, “That’s right, the Briar universe is coming to your screens! And this wouldn’t be happening if it weren’t for YOU–the readers who have championed this series so passionately. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support, kind words, and all the hockey love. Special thanks to Team EK and everyone who has worked so hard on this project. I cannot wait to see our showrunner bring the series to life!”
Who has been cast in the Off Campus TV show?
In May 2025, Prime Video announced that Bright and Cameli had been cast as Hannah and Garrett. Bright is best known for playing young Kate Middleton in an episode of The Crown. Cameli played Jamie Spano, Jessie Spano’s son, in the Saved by the Bell revival.

Deadline revealed that Steve Howey, who is best known for roles on Shameless and High Potential, has been cast as Garrett’s father, a retired hockey player named Phil Graham. Howey shared the news on his X account and wrote, “Yessss! #offcampus.” At this point, Coach Jensen, Hannah’s parents, and the rest of the major adult characters have yet to be cast.
Other notable characters from the Off Campus book series who will be featured in Season 1: Mika Abdalla as Allie, Antonio Cipriano as Logan, Jalen Thomas Brooks as Tucker, and Stephen Kalyn as Dean. Josh Heuston will appear as Justin, Hannah’s longtime crush. (Fans recently found a playlist the actor made for his character, if you’re looking for clues about the adaptation.)

Cruel Intentions fans, rise up! Deadline announced that Khobe Clarke will be joining Off Campus as Beau Maxwell, Dean Di Laurentis’ quarterback bestie. A slew of recurring cast members were announced in November 2025, after production had already started. The 18 new faces that joined the show are: AJ Abell, Francesca Bianchi, Kai Bradbury, Karis Cameron, Josh Chambers, Riley Davis, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Chelah Horsdal, Quinten James, Dylan Kingwell, Riley Orr, Lauren Patten, Frankie Randysek, Brandon Scott, Jennifer Spence, Julia Sarah Stone, Marlee Walchuk, and Chad Willett.
Their roles haven’t officially been revealed yet, though Clarke did appear to confirm that Patten would be playing his onscreen sister, Joanna Maxwell. A fan screengrabbed Clarke’s comment on Instagram, which said, “Hey Jo!!!!”

“Sometimes the cast of Off Campus sneaks up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them,” Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video captioned a joint Instagram post revealing the cast.

The search for Briar U’s lineup began in February 2025, when Kennedy posted about a casting call for Off Campus. “We’ve seen your DMs….and we’re excited to announce that casting is officially OPEN for #OffCampus,” she wrote on Instagram. “Sing or play hockey? We can’t wait to see what you’ve got!!” The show’s casting team noted that no acting experience is required.
Louisa Levy will serve as the showrunner. She previously served as a writer for Death and Other Details, In the Dark, and more.
Where did Off Campus film?
According to fans on social media, one of the Briar University filming locations was Riverview Hospital in British Columbia, Canada. The actors playing hockey hunks, Garrett, Dean, Logan, and Tucker, also posted pictures of their trailer doors labeled “The Garrett Graham,” “Daddy Dean,” “Papa John (Logan),” and “Chef Tucker.” As one TikTok commenter put it, we’re collecting any shred of Off Campus filming info we can “like infinity stones.”

During production, Prime Video knew fans were in dire need of a sneak peek. On August 7, the streamer dropped a hair and makeup test featuring our first look at Bright and Cameli as Hannah and Garrett. “Capturing pure chemistry in real time during a hair and makeup test with @ellabright__ and @belmontcameli on the set of Off Campus,” the caption read.
The streamer didn’t stop there. A few days later, fans got their first glimpse of Tucker, Logan, Dean, and Garrett on the ice. One by one, the actors showed the back of their characters’ jerseys before swiveling around. They each gave the camera a flirty look before skating away.

From there on out, Prime Video kept fans fed with Off Campus Thursdays, which offered sneak peeks at the show every week until the new year. After the first look at the boys came a video of Off Campus‘ leading lady. The short clip shows Hannah waving at the camera, and she appears to be in a bar, from what we can make out of the background. We’re willing to bet it’s Malone’s, the joint that the Briar U hockey boys frequent.

What will the first Off Campus season be about?
The first season will be based on the first book in Kennedy’s Off Campus series, The Deal, Deadline confirmed. The book centers around Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells’ romance. Garrett is a hotshot hockey player for Briar University who is struggling with his GPA. Hannah is a music major with a painful past. They make a deal to help each other, and it doesn’t take long for their feelings to deepen into something more.
The official description for the show, according to Variety, says that the first season “follows the unlikely romance between a wry, hockey-hating music major (Bright) and Briar University’s playboy star center (Camelli). The series depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.”

Will all of the books be covered in the show?
The series will likely aim to bring all of the Off Campus books to life on Prime Video. If the series follows the order of Kennedy’s books, then The Mistake would be the focus of Season 2, followed by The Score, The Goal, and The Legacy.
There is a lot of Briar University source material that Prime Video could explore. After five seasons covering the Off Campus books, the show could move into the spinoffs: Briar U Series (The Chase, The Risk, The Play, The Dare) and Campus Diaries Series (The Graham Effect, The Dixon Rule, and The Charlie Method).
