Pop the Balloon made its live debut on April 10. Five Mystery Daters hit the Netflix stage to see if they could find a match among eight single contestants. The singles each had a red balloon in their hands. If their balloon got popped, their shot at love was over. In a nutshell, the first episode sounded like a Fourth of July fireworks show.

The series is a reimagining of the YouTube hit and will continue to air new episodes weekly, with Insecure star Yvonne Orji serving as the host. Celebrities Johnny Bananas and Chase DeMoor were among the suitors, along with three men named Keith, Braeden, and Harnek. So, did anyone walk away with a date?

Unfortunately, no one had any luck finding a match during the premiere date. Bananas took the stage first, and the women kept popping their balloons the more he talked. Keith was close to finding a match, but the last woman left with her balloon still inflated just wasn’t feeling the right energy once she started talking to him.

Too Hot to Handle‘s DeMoor left without a date after all the ladies popped their balloons. One of the daters, Louise, popped her balloon immediately because she and DeMoor knew each other. Apparently, he’s like a brother to her.

Braeden, a 24-year-old with a “cowboy hat bar business,” didn’t have any matches either. Harnek, an engineer, was the final suitor to try and find love. He walked away without a date, but he also popped some of the women’s balloons himself because he wasn’t interested.

Orji kept the energy high despite the fact that no matches were made. “Hopefully, we have better luck next week,” the actress quipped. The suitors and daters took the stage after the first live episode ended. Bananas notably had unbuttoned his shirt and started dancing.
