Joanna Gaines Marks Major Family Milestone With Sweet Gesture
Joanna Gaines has three children in high school, and they all attended a major milestone event over the weekend. The interior designer celebrated the occasion with a post on Instagram.
She also revealed how she helped them get ready for the event with a personal touch.
“Three of our kiddos going to prom this weekend,” Gaines shared in an Instagram post. “Garden flowers blooming just in time! This will be the first prom for one, and the last prom for another.”

Gaines picked colorful flowers from her own garden to make bouquets for the kids and gave a glimpse into the process in her video. She and husband Chip Gaines have been married since 2003 and have five children together. At 20, their eldest son, Drake, is already past the age of prom days, but the three middle children — Ella, 18, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 15 — are now getting the experience. In addition to the teens, the pair also shares 6-year-old son Crew.
Although the Gaines’ have been married for more than 20 years, they’re still making sure to keep things fresh in their relationship. In March, Joanna opened up about trying new hobbies with her husband. Most recently, they’ve started going to the gym together.
“There’s really no shortage of us doing things together,” she told Us Weekly. “But what I’ve loved most about this new rhythm of working out together is that it’s new and different for us, but it’s also been interesting to see that the way we show up for each other in our little garage gym is the same way we always have at the office, or with a new project.”
Just a few weeks ago, the entire family took a spring skiing trip together, which Joanna also documented on Instagram. “Another family ski trip in the books!” she shared. “Except mine doesn’t count as skiing.”
