Peter Krause‘s 9-1-1 character Bobby has been in a relationship with Athena (Angela Bassett) since the end of Season 1, and he’s had some long-term relationships in real life, too.

The actor famously dated Lauren Graham, of Gilmore Girls fame, for more than ten years before their shocking split in 2021. However, he also has a son with his ex-girlfriend, as well as another actress ex. Swooon rounded up everything to know about Peter Krause’s love life. Scroll down for more!

How did Peter Krause and Lauren Graham meet?

Krause and Graham met years before they became a couple. Their first meeting happened in 1995 on the set of Caroline in the Citywhere Graham had a recurring role and Krause popped in for a guest appearance.

In a 2010 interview with Redbook, Graham recalled having chemistry with the actor but explained why things didn’t progress at the time.

“The timing wasn’t right. Though I think we liked each other,” she recalled. “I remember one day he asked me over to his house to play a board game — and that’s exactly what we ended up doing. So I was like, ‘This guy doesn’t like me.’ But I was also like, ‘Who actually plays a board game?’ It’s so interesting to me that there was clearly a connection there back then, but I don’t think either of us was ready.  You know, he’s obviously a very confident, appealing guy, but he’s shy, and so am I. We stayed friends over the years, and I’ve always been a huge fan of his work.”

They didn’t become a couple until they were cast on Parenthood together. Although they played siblings on the show, which premiered in March 2010, their relationship progressed in real life and was confirmed later that year.

“I don’t really experience a spotlight. In this case, nobody knew for a while,” Graham explained. “Because we like to be at home, cooking, and not going out. I’ve also been really protective of it, because it’s important that you can buy us as brother and sister on the show.”

Why did Peter Krause and Lauren Graham split?

In April 2021, Graham opened up about spending time apart from Krause while she filmed The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. She said she had to get used to being the odd man out with Krause and his son once she returned home.

“It was more like they were the married couple,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “They were like, ‘We don’t do it that way anymore.’ In the kitchen or whatever. They were like, ‘No, no, no, this is how things happen.'”

At some point later that year, the couple ended things. However, they were able to keep the breakup a secret until June 2022 when Graham’s rep confirmed to People that the stars had “quietly ended their relationship last year.”

In November 2022, Graham promoted her book, Have I Told You This Already? Stories I Don’t Want to Forget to Remember, and gave some more insight into why she and Krause split.

“I’m in a better place, but it’s still just a shame. It’s just sad to me,” she told People. “We had such a good time together that I didn’t maybe ask some fundamental questions about ‘What are your values and what do you envision?’ and those more grown-up things. And then they just caught up with us.”

Who is the mother of Peter Krause’s son?

Krause shares his son, Roman, with ex Christine King. They were together from 1999 to 2003 and welcomed Roman in 2001.

In her 2022 book, Graham reflected on her relationship with Roman, writing, “I’ve never been a mom, but I have loved a child who lived in my house for a long time.” She also said that she hopes Roman will “be a part of the rest of my life,” despite her split from his father.

Who else has Peter Krause dated?

From 1995 to 1999, Krause was in a relationship with actress Alicia Witt. The two met while working on the sitcom Cybill.

“Chuck Lorre hired me [for the show], and then Cybill [Shepherd] fired him. It was really weird,” Krause said in an interview with BuzzFeed. “I was cast in it and then he was gone, so Jay Daniel took over; [he] had been with Cybill on Moonlighting. Cybill was very talented, Christine Baranski was wonderful, DeDee Pfeiffer was great to work with. I met my girlfriend Alicia Witt on the show.”

There are also reports that Krause was in a relationship with Tamela D’Amico from 2006 to 2010. He served as the executive producer of her 2009 album Got a Little Story.
