Joanna Gaines’ Husband Chip Makes Massive Change at Her Request

Husbands, listen up! When your wife wants you to do something, you listen to her!
HGTV alum Joanna Gaines revealed that her husband, Chip Gaines, has undergone a major transformation — and it’s all because of her. On April 18, Joanna shared a video of Chip opening up about the huge change he’s made.
“Hey y’all, all Joanna wanted for her birthday was for me to get a haircut. But I feel like my hair is just finally starting to look awesome,” Chip said in a video Joanna posted on Instagram. Chip’s long hair could be seen blowing in the wind as he rode around on his tractor.
The video segued to the moment Chip sat down in the salon chair. Chip and Joanna’s son, Crew, filmed his dad’s entire hair transformation. When Chip asked Crew why he was getting a haircut, Crew said, “Because that’s what mama only wanted for her birthday.”

Even though he liked his longer locks, Chip was more than willing to grant his wife’s birthday wish. “Love you, mom. Happy birthday,” he said before the stylist got to work. Crew later zoomed in on all the hair Chip had cut off.
Chip debuted his new look when he was back at the farm. The Fixer Upper star had several inches chopped off and proudly showed off his short hair transformation. “I do feel pretty good. I feel pretty light. Happy birthday, Jo!” he said.
He got Joanna’s stamp of approval! “You look good @chipgaines!” she gushed in her Instagram caption. “Crew did awesome capturing the moment. Great job Jesse! @asylumsalon.” Fans applauded Chip’s haircut in the comments section. “Fantastic new look! 10 years younger,” one fan wrote. Another noted, “Shorter hair on Chip is SO MUCH BETTER.”
The couple, who have been married since 2003, love trying new things in order to strengthen their relationship. “There’s really no shortage of us doing things together,” Joanna told Us Weekly. “But what I’ve loved most about this new rhythm of working out together is that it’s new and different for us, but it’s also been interesting to see that the way we show up for each other in our little garage gym is the same way we always have at the office, or with a new project.”
