Joshua Jackson Reveals Where He Stands With Ex Katie Holmes 22 Years After ‘Dawson’s Creek’
Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes were a real-life couple during the first two seasons of Dawson’s Creek in 1998 and 1999. They went on to continue working together on the show until its series finale in 2003.
But where do the former costars and IRL lovers stand now? It’s been more than 20 years since they’ve worked together. Have they maintained a relationship at all? Jackson weighed in on their status today.
On the Tuesday, April 22, episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson‘s podcast, Dinner’s on Me, Jackson pointed out that Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams are “very, very close,” and added, “Katie and I are very close.” He also gave some insight into how much the cast members chat these days.
“It’s not a daily call,” the actor admitted. “Sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. But when you’re together, A, there’s always that, like, ‘I know you know.’ And B, there is, you know, these moments, like, these major moments in life are, like … other than your husband, there’s probably no other people in your life that you are forged to. Because you had to go through good and bad, and happy, and f**k you, and don’t talk to me, and I love you.”

Holmes also opened up about her relationship with Jackson and her other costars in a June 2024 interview with U.K.’s The Times. She said they “text every now and then” but added that she “wasn’t aware” of the WhatsApp group chat they were all in.
“But you know what? I’m really bad at WhatsApp,” she admitted. “I never check it because it’s a little too much.” She also said, “Everyone’s grown up and is busy, but the bond will forever be there.”
The actress was previously married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, and they share a daughter. From 2015 to 2019, she was in a relationship with Jamie Foxx. Following the split, she was linked to Emilio Vitolo Jr. before their May 2021 breakup. Meanwhile, Jackson shares a child with ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith, whom he married in 2019 and divorced in 2023. He subsequently dated Lupita Nyong’o and was most recently linked to Nastassja Roberts.
