Is Martha Stewart married?
No, Stewart is not married. She was previously married one time to Andrew Stewart, whom she wed in 1961. After their 1987 separation, the former couple officially divorced in 1990.
Martha and Andrew were set up on a blind date and tied the knot after a year of dating.
In October 2024, the celebrity chef admitted that she had cheated on her husband during their relationship. “I don’t think Andy ever knew about that,” she said in her documentary, Martha, when asked if she had an affair “early on” in the marriage.
The exes no longer communicate. “I haven’t talked to him for over 20 years, sadly,” she said. In a previous 2020 interview with People, Stewart said, “Getting divorced was a terrible thing for me, because we were the first to divorce in my family. And that we haven’t spoken since the divorce is even more painful. But I’m very strong, and I’m very motivated to get on with life.”
Who else has Martha Stewart dated?
After the divorce, Stewart dated Anthony Hopkins. However, she later revealed that she broke up with him because she couldn’t separate his The Silence of the Lambs character, Hannibal Lecter, from real life.
“I have a big, scary house in Maine that’s way by itself on 100 acres in the forest, and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there,” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I couldn’t—all I could think of was him eating, you know …”
Stewart then dated billionaire Charles Simonyi for 15 years before their split in 2008. He left her for another woman, which she opened up about in her documentary.
“We had this elaborate trip planned,” she shared. “We were visiting the president of Iceland and we were in bed and he said, ‘You know Martha, I’m going to get married, I’m gonna get married to Lisa.’ I said, ‘Lisa who?’ He hadn’t told me a word. I thought that was the most horrible thing a person could do. How can a man who spent 15 years with me do that? What a stupid thing to do to someone that you actually care about.”
Does Martha Stewart have kids?
Yes, Stewart has one kid. She shares daughter Alexis, who was born in 1965, with Andrew. Alexis works as a radio and television personality.

Through Alexis, Stewart has two grandchildren, daughter Jude and son Truman, who were both born via surrogacy.
“Our relationship has always been a difficult mother-daughter relationship,” Stewart said in 2020. “Difficult, but she would do anything for me, and I would do anything for her.”
