Love ‘em or hate ‘em, age gap romances are all the buzz lately, especially in relation to The Bachelor franchise. Ahead Bachelor in Paradise‘s Season 10 premiere on July 7 — which is confirmed to feature The Golden Bachelor contestants — host Jesse Palmer and bartender Wells Adams are “hopeful” that the senior stars will be able to date their younger Bachelor and Bachelorette counterparts.

It’s not a sure thing, but according to an interview in Us Weekly, Palmer answered “hopefully yes” when asked if a crossover between the dating pools was a possibility. The host and Adams then pointed out the controversial relationship between former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, 73, and current girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24.

“Look at Bill Belichick,” Wells said. “This happens all the time in the real world. I don’t know if it will, but I think it’ll be cool to have the Goldens around.”

These comments come after upcoming Paradise contestant Leslie Fhima, who starred in Gerry Turner‘s season of the Golden Bachelor, allegedly denied that contestants of all ages could couple up. In April, The Betchelor podcast reported that Golden contestants would be on a separate Costa Rican beach, with the season going back and forth between the two groups.

“I have heard from my good friend Leslie Fhima that we got it wrong [about age gap romances being a possibility],” host Jared Freid claimed, adding that “it won’t be the Goldens creepin’ on the youngins’.”

According to Palmer, though, there will at least be some interaction between the two groups in the upcoming season of Paradise. “Outside of them having a second shot at finding love, I’m really interested to see the perspectives that the Golden cast bring, educating our younger cast on life and love,” Palmer said. “I think there’s a lot of value there.”

Wells echoed Palmer, noting that what he loves about The Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette stars is that they’ve lived more life, making for more significant stakes, advice, and conversations. “I think that’ll be a good thing for them to impart on all these young kids,” he said.

Another guarantee is that the Golden contestants will add “lots of personality” to the show, Palmer revealed. So far, Season 10’s cast includes Golden‘s Fhima and Gary Levingston from the Golden franchise. From the standard franchise, Jonathon Johnson, Hakeem Moulton, and Zoe McGrady will head to the beach.
