Two and a half years after Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar got engaged on Season 27 of The Bachelor, the lovebirds tied the knot. Shallcross and Biggar are officially married following their intimate family wedding. They confirmed the news and shared photos from their nuptials on June 11.

Ahead of their big day, which took place on May 23, the couple opened up about how they were only going to have immediate family members in attendance at their wedding and then have a “huge party later down the road.”

“Who said Bachelor couples never workout?” Biggar wrote on Instagram. “Can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos!!!” They also shared a video from the big day, which featured their sweet vows and other moments from the nuptials.

Only nine people were in attendance at the wedding, which took place at a chapel. The guests were Shallcross’ parents and two sisters, along with Biggar’s mom, aunt, and brother. They also had a videographer and photographer on-hand. The newlyweds appeared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast and revealed that they initially intended to have a bigger party in November, but don’t even know if they need that to happen. They plan to honeymoon in Italy in March 2026, at which point they’ll probably be planning for a baby.

Biggar was Shallcross’ final pick of The Bachelor. They got engaged at the final rose ceremony in November 2022, and the proposal aired during the season finale four months later. Since they were both already living in Austin, Texas, they didn’t have to worry about navigating a long-distance relationship once they were able to go public.

In January 2024, Biggar and Shallcross moved into their first home together and have said that they’re prioritizing putting money towards buying their future house, which is why they backed out of having a big wedding. In January, Shallcross said he and his bride-to-be actually worked with a wedding planner and found a venue they liked, but quickly realized it was over their budget.

“It does not feel good to go so into this venue when we’ve already established what our priorities are, which is buying a house and not a down payment for one day,” he explained on the Almost Famous podcast. “So we backed out of the contract. Not saying we’re done with wedding planning. We’ve actually gone further in other areas. But we just couldn’t do that.”

Instead, they decided to essentially “elope” at a courthouse (which later changed to the chapel after Biggar’s aunt discovered it). “It’s such a small wedding so just immediate family,” Biggar confirmed on her Instagram Story.

Shallcross is only the second Bachelor lead to marry his final pick, following in the footsteps of Sean Lowe. Arie Luyendyk and Jason Mesnick both got married to their runner-ups after dumping their original fiancées.
