Watch Out, Aidan! Is Carrie’s Hunky ‘And Just Like That’ Gardener Her Next Love Interest?

[Warning: The below contains MAJOR spoilers for And Just Like That Season 3 Episode 2, “The Rat Race.”]
We couldn’t help but wonder: Did the New York City rats lead Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) to her next great love interest? In the June 5 episode of And Just Like That, Carrie crossed paths with a very handsome gardener named Adam (Logan Marshall-Green).
When Shoe gets out of the house, Carrie races out the front door to find her furry feline. When she opens the door, she finds Shoe in the arms of the dashing Adam, who is technically a “landscape architect.” Carrie is immediately intrigued by this very attractive man, who happens to be a native New Yorker.
She notices the “Dead Wait” T-shirt he’s wearing. Could the T-shirt be a sign from the universe to Carrie about Aidan (John Corbett)? Earlier in the episode, Carrie gets some clarity on her relationship with Aidan. He admits to being a little too dramatic in the wake of Wyatt’s accident, but he tells Carrie that she can call and text him whenever she wants.

Back in the Gramercy Park backyard, Adam asks Carrie about her “ultimate vision” for the space. She immediately deflects and tries to gauge his opinion. Adam refuses to let Carrie off the hook.
“I have no idea,” Carrie admits. “I loved everything as it was, but now that’s all changed, so… I don’t know what comes next.” Adam responds, “I think that’s exciting, not knowing, because what is meant to be has the space to show up.” Carrie and Adam stare at each other a little too long, and their vibe is more flirty than strictly platonic.
Five years is a long time to wait for someone. Let Carrie have a little fun with a younger man! Adam is the first person in Carrie’s life, at least recently, to urge her to think for herself and figure out what she wants. Adam might just be what Carrie needs right now.
For millennials who consumed The O.C. in the 2000s, Marshall-Green cemented his place in TV history long before he showed up on the Sex and the City spinoff. He played Trey Atwood, the troubled older brother of Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie).
The actor was famously part of the final scene of The O.C. Season 2 finale, which turned 20 years old in May, when Marissa (Mischa Barton) shot Trey to protect Ryan, all to the needle drop of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek.” Since The O.C., the actor had notable roles in films and TV, including Charlie Holloway in Prometheus, Jackson Brice in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Grey Trace in Upgrade, and Agent Alcott in Carry-On. He recently starred as Travis Stone in the ABC series Big Sky.
