Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Are Engaged & Set to Tie the Knot After 3 Years of Dating
They’re finally doing it! After three years of dating, Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are officially taking the next step in their relationship. They’re engaged!
The couple shared the news with fans on October 14 after teasing an imminent proposal for months.
“We are sharing with all of you that we are engaged and we’ve been engaged for just about a month now,” Robach revealed on their Amy & T.J. podcast. “We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to. We’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship,” Holmes added.
Robach also said she hasn’t been hiding the news, noting that she’s been wearing her engagement ring in public places for the past three weeks. “If people saw it, maybe they were just being polite,” she guessed.
Even the pair’s friends didn’t pick up on the new bling. “We were intimately engaged with friends, very close people, for the past three weekends,” Holmes shared. “All of them are gonna think back and go, ‘Oh my God, how did we miss it?'” More details about the proposal will come in the future, the lovebirds shared.
This exciting news comes after Robach was photographed wearing a purple ring on her left hand at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March. This was reportedly a “promise ring” to signify that they would eventually take the next step, according to Us Weekly.
This will be the third marriage for both Robach and Holmes. She was previously married to Tim McIntosh, whom she has two children with, and Andrew Shue, while Holmes previously wed Amy Ferson and Marilee Fiebig (he has two kids with the former and one with the latter).
Robach and Holmes became close friends while cohosting GMA3: What You Need to Know. In 2022, they were both privately going through separations from Shue and Fiebig, which is when their relationship turned romantic. News of the romance went public that November.
Interestingly, Shue and Fiebig went on to begin a relationship of their own. They were first spotted out together in February 2023. Two years later, Us Weekly reported that they had moved in together.
The outlet also received insight about Robach and Holmes’ wedding plans. “How they got together is not traditional, so they want the engagement and wedding this time around to be their own style: Modest and simple,” the source revealed. “They want to share their vows in front of the closest people who matter to them to demonstrate how much they love each other and are committed to each other.”
They’re even reportedly planning on inviting Shue and Fiebig to their nuptials, according to Us Weekly’s insider.
