‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Canceled After 2 Seasons

If you’ve been curious about the fate of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, hosted by Sweet Magnolias star JoAnna Garcia Swisher, since Season 2 dropped earlier this summer, we just got an update — and it’s not good. Netflix has canceled the reality dating series after two seasons.
Netflix’s The Ultimatum franchise is the kind of messy we can’t get enough of, which is why we were excited to find out about its LGBTQ+ spinoff a few years ago. It follows couples who are torn about getting married. They enter trial marriages with their fellow cast members before switching back to the partner they came in with. They either walk away engaged, single, or in an entirely new relationship.
The couples enter the experiment hoping it’ll give them clarity, and for better or worse, it usually does. After watching all of the drama that went down in Seasons 1 and 2, we were waiting to see if The Ultimatum: Queer Love would be renewed for Season 3. Get all the updates about the Netflix series.
Is The Ultimatum: Queer Love coming back for Season 3?
The Ultimatum: Queer Love’s run has come to an end. In October 2025, Variety reported that Netflix canceled the spinoff series. While the first season of the show spent two weeks on the Netflix Top 10, Season 2 did not make the global Top 10. The flagship series, The Ultimatum, will return for a new season.
What happened in The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2?
Season 2’s reunion episode saw four of the original couples still engaged. We have a full guide to which couples stayed together and split, which you can check out here.
Is The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On coming back for Season 4?
Yes, the OG Ultimatum series has been greenlit for another season. It’ll follow the same format as past seasons, according to Tudum. Filming will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to Behind The Scenes Las Vegas, but we don’t know when shooting starts or when the season will air.
