Will ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Return For Season 3? Everything We Know So Far

If you’ve just finished The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 and need more episodes ASAP, we’re right there with you.
Netflix’s The Ultimatum franchise is the kind of messy we can’t get enough of, which is why we were excited to find out about its LGBTQ+ spinoff a few years ago. Like its counterpart, the show follows couples that are torn on whether or not they should get married. They break up and enter trial marriages with their fellow cast members for a few weeks before switching back to the partner they came in with. At the end, they walk away engaged, single, or even in an entirely new relationship. Queer Love sets itself apart from the original Marry or Move On by featuring all women or non-binary people.
The couples enter the experiment hoping it’ll give them clarity, and for better or worse, it usually does. After watching all of the drama that went down in Season 1, we had high hopes for Season 2, which rolled out its final episodes on July 2. Luckily, it delivered, but that also means we binged all of the episodes at once. We had to find out if The Ultimatum: Queer Love has been renewed for Season 3 afterward. So, without further ado, here’s everything we know.
Is The Ultimatum: Queer Love coming back for Season 3?
Netflix has yet to renew The Ultimatum: Queer Love for Season 3, but to be fair, the second batch of episodes dropped only yesterday. It was renewed for Season 2 less than a week after Season 1 premiered, so hopefully we should get news soon!
When would The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 3 premiere?
The Ultimatum process itself only takes eight weeks, but the show usually waits about a year to film the reunion episode. All that considered, if Queer Love is renewed as quickly as it was last time, we’re looking at a summer 2026 release at least. You also have to factor in casting and production, which is probably why there were two years between Season 1 and 2, so it could also come back in late 2026 or early 2027.
Who is in The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 3 cast?
Since it has yet to be renewed, the stars of the potential Season 3 haven’t been revealed yet. Last time around, a casting call was put out in October 2023, a few months after the first season aired in May. The stars weren’t announced until shortly before Season 2 aired. We likely won’t know the new couples until summer 2026 at the earliest.
Will JoAnna Garcia Swisher return as host?
Though nothing has been confirmed, it’s safe to assume the Sweet Magnolias star will come back for a third season if the second season does well, and she has no scheduling conflicts. She is currently filming Season 5 of her small-town Netflix series.
What happened in The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2?
Season 2’s reunion episode saw four of the original couples still engaged. We have a full guide to which couples stayed together and split, which you can check out here.
Is The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On coming back for Season 4?
The OG Ultimatum series hasn’t been greenlit yet either. Maybe Netflix is waiting for Queer Love to drop in its entirety, and then the streaming service will give fans an update on both versions of the show at the same time.
