Inside ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’s Whitney Way Thore’s Complicated Relationship History

Whitney Way Thore is returning to television with Season 13 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life on July 1. Since 2015, Thore has been giving fans a look inside her life with the TLC reality series, and that includes her relationships.

Finding love hasn’t always been the easiest road for Thore, who has dated a few different men over the course of the show. Scroll down for everything we know about her love life and where things stand now.

Is Whitney Thore getting married?

No, Thore appears to be single at the moment. However, she once almost made it down the aisle after getting engaged to Chase Severino in October 2019. The two met through Thore’s NoBS business partner Ryan Andreas, who is one of Severino’s best friends from college.

Thore and Severino kept their engagement a secret until December 2019. He popped the question during a trip to Paris. In May 2020, Thore announced that she and Severino had ended their engagement after he slept with another woman and got her pregnant.

“Chase and I are no longer engaged,” she shared at the time. “After experiencing a lot of ups and downs and still living apart, Chase reconnected with a woman with whom he has had a long history.”

In his own post, Severino added, “I have nothing but love and respect for Whitney and our time together. Thank you for always supporting us. As we now go our separate ways, I ask for privacy for Whitney, myself, and the mother of my child who wishes to remain anonymous.”

Who else has Whitney Thore dated?

During the early seasons of the show, Thore was in a relationship with Lennie Alehat. They eventually split in 2016, with unconfirmed rumors of a cheating scandal reportedly to blame. However, the two have remained friendly and have even blurred the line between friendship and something more in the years since their breakup.

“I know that I love you,” Thore told Lennie on an episode of her show in 2022. “I know that I love someone else too. It feels confusing sometimes.”

The “someone else” she was referring to was her unnamed French boyfriend, whom she dated after her split from Severino. Thore met the Frenchman online while he was her French tutor and she purposely kept his identity a secret. The two were in an open relationship when she opened up about her feelings for Alehat.

Thore also has a complicated history with her longtime friend Buddy Bell, whom she kissed at the end of Season 5 of the show. They never took their relationship to the next level, and he’s gone on to get married to someone else, but even Severino couldn’t ignore the obvious chemistry between the two.

Another one of Thore’s exes is Avi Lang, whom she dated in 2017 after her split from Alehat. They broke up after she found out he was scamming her. “Avi was someone who I originally met online and then dated for almost eight months before I found out he was cheating on me with women all over the world,” she revealed.

Does Whitney Thore have a baby?

Thore does not have a baby… yet. However, previews for Season 13 of My Big Fat Fabulous Life reveal that she’s looking into options to have a child. She began her sperm donor search while filming for the show.

“Since I turned 40, it’s really got me thinking about the bigger things that I want in my life,” Thore explained in a sneak peek. “I’m going to pursue artificial artificial insemination.”

With the show coming out, Thore has not given an update on her baby journey, but it looks like we’ll find out more as the episodes air.
