‘American Idol’s Triston Harper Welcomes Baby No. 1 at Age 17
Triston Harper just became a dad at the age of 17. Just days after the American Idol alum celebrated his 17th birthday in June, his mom, Hattie Sullivan, revealed that she became a grandmother.
She made the big announcement in a Facebook post. Harper and his wife, Paris Reed, have yet to share the news on their own social media profiles.
“Everybody my Grand Baby has made her Grand Entrance,” Sullivan wrote. “Weighing a solid 6lbs and 6 ounces. Brenley Lichelle Harper Has now arrived on the scene and she ain’t here to play. She’s already in boss mode!!!!! Feed me, Change me, Cut that bright light out. Yes ma’am whatever you want G MA is gonna make it happen!!!!!” The baby appears to have come early, as Reed’s baby registry listed her due date as July 26.
This came just six days after Sullivan paid tribute to her son on his 17th birthday. “17 years ago today…. I gave birth to a star,” she wrote. “Triston Has been as close to perfect as perfect could be. Any parent would be proud to have this young man as their own but God chose to give him to me. I am thankful, grateful, and honored to be his mother. Happy birthday to my thumper… Before you won over the hearts of America you had my heart in the psalm of your hand. I love you Triston so much and I pray that you get everything you have worked so hard for and all your dreams come true. Everybody help me wish my baby a Happy 17th Birthday.”

Harper announced his marriage to Reed in November. He updated his relationship to “married” on Facebook and told fans, “Iv got big news harpies.” A few days later, Harper also reshared Sullivan’s Facebook post announcing Reed’s pregnancy.
“Now Everybody has congratulated me on Triston and Paris getting married but to me that is old news but now I’m bout to be a G Ma,” she shared at the time.
Harper was just 15 when he was a contestant on Season 22 of American Idol in 2024. He made it to the Top 5 before being eliminated in the penultimate episode.
