Get to Know ‘The Bachelorette’ Alum Peter Kraus’ New Fiancée Hana Ostapchuk
Things didn’t work out between Peter Kraus and Rachel Lindsay on The Bachelorette in 2017, but the Season 13 runner-up has now found the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Kraus popped the question to girlfriend Hana Ostapchuk on July 3.
“Throughout it all, it was always you. I just had to find you. I love you,” he shared in an Instagram post, which included photos from the waterfront proposal. “Words cannot express the love and happiness we feel. Last night was truly magical and only possible because of an amazing support system of incredible people in our lives! We are so thankful.”

What does Hana Ostapchuk do for a living?
Ostapchuk is a “host, producer, and graphic designer,” according to her website. Her career began at Fox Sports Florida, where she started working as a brand ambassador and was quickly promoted to a sideline reporter and on-air host.
She then moved on to CBS Sports, where she contributed to all of the network’s digital content. Her other hosting gigs include Entertainment Tonight, Tennis Channel, and Cheddar News.
Ostapchuk was part of the launch of Amazon’s sports network, Prime Video Sports Talk, in 2022. During that time, she also continued working in TV development at SONY and Embassy Row.
In August 2024, Ostapchuk launched her company Hey Hana Design, per LinkedIn. She offers creative direction, design, and digital production in web design, graphics, and branding, according to the brand’s Instagram.
How did Peter Kraus and Hana Ostapchuk meet?
“We met in New York City on Raya of all places, on a dating app,” Ostapchuk said on the Discover Wisconsin podcast. “I would say the worst dating app in the history of dating apps. I have publicly shamed that app for so long just because I’m always like, ‘Who actually meets someone on that app?’ I was very anti-apps, I didn’t want to be on them. Then, lo and behold, one day, after a plethora of bad days of meeting guys in the wild, I went back on Raya and there he was.”

Kraus had a planned trip to New York and matched with Ostapchuk “about three or four days” before he arrived. When she saw that he was from Wisconsin, she didn’t respond to his message. But when he followed it up with another message asking her to coffee, she agreed. The date lasted over two hours.
“After that, he just kept the communication going,” Ostapchuk shared. “I was so used to these New York guys who never wanted … [they were] playing it cool. But there’s another version of that that’s like … playing it cool, playing it cool. There was no communication whatsoever, no persistence or any of that. He was immediately persistent, consistent, all of it. But in, like, a normal way.”
Where do Peter Kraus and Hana Ostapchuk live?
After beginning their relationship long-distance, Ostapchuk eventually moved to Wisconsin to be with Kraus in February 2025. They came to the decision because his fitness business is based in Wisconsin, while she’s able to work more freely from anywhere.
However, Kraus acknowledged that it was a major compromise and said he plans to return the favor one day. He revealed that the “long-term” goal is for them to move to Florida, which is where Ostapchuk’s family lives.
