Hallmark Favorites Tyler Hynes & Erin Krakow Reuniting for First Christmas Movie
It Was Always You fans, your calls have been answered! Tyler Hynes and Erin Krakow will be sharing the screen once again for the first time since their 2021 hit Hallmark movie.
The exciting news was announced ahead of the Hallmark Hallstars panel, hosted by TV Guide Magazine’s own Damian Holbrook, at San Diego Comic-Con. Hynes and the When Calls the Heart star aren’t reuniting for a sequel to It Was Always You — we’re still holding out hope! — but they will be costars in the new holiday movie, Christmas Above the Clouds. The film will be a part of Hallmark’s annual Countdown to Christmas lineup.
“Christmas Above the CLOUD NINE working with Tyler again!” Krakow told People. “Ever since our 2021 Hallmark movie It Was Always You, we’ve been touched and overwhelmed by our viewers’ passionate pleas for a reunion project. We were thrilled to be able to reunite on this very special take on A Christmas Carol, and we can’t wait to share it!” Hynes quipped, “To quote the great poet Peaches & Herb… ‘Reunited and it feels so good,'”
The Groomsmen star recently spoke with Swooon about working alongside Krakow in It Was Always You. “We adore each other deeply,” Hynes said about Krakow. “I have the utmost respect for that woman, and that movie is entirely the success it was based on her unbelievable talents.”
In our interview, Hynes did cryptically tease another project with Krakow. He acknowledged that Hallmark fans wanted him to work with Krakow again and gently hinted at Christmas Above the Clouds.
“Erin and I working together [again] is something that has been shared for quite some time, and though the wheels in charge may sometimes take a minute, we do get there,” he said. “I think that we’re a small enough, little family-run thing that it happens more than other places. I think the audience can ask for whatever they want, and it will most likely materialize.”
Christmas Above the Clouds will be Hynes’ second Countdown to Christmas movie in 2025. Ahead of San Diego Comic Con, Hallmark confirmed that a third Three Wise Men movie is headed our way. Hynes will reunite with his fellow Brenner brothers, Andrew Walker and Paul Campbell, in the highly-anticipated movie.
