’90 Day Fiancé’s Mahogany Roca Gives Rare Update Following Her Husband’s Death
90 Day Fiancé‘s Mahogany Roca got candid with her Instagram followers on July 26, giving a rare glimpse into her life after the loss of her late husband, Ben Rathbun.
Mahogany Roca and Ben Rathbun appeared on Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, which featured the couple dating after they met online. While fans questioned the couple’s longevity due to their 30-year age gap, the couple announced that their wedding was set for February 2024 during an episode of 90 Day Diaries.
Rathbun’s ex-wife, Lisa Perry Rathbun, took to Facebook in May 2025 to announce that her ex-husband had died of stomach cancer. She stated, “I regretfully have to share that Ben Rathbun, my former husband and father to our four amazing children, passed away Monday, May 19, of cancer at his parents’ home in Indiana.”
After taking time for herself, Roca took to Instagram on July 26 to answer her followers’ questions about how she’s coping with Rathbun’s death. The 25-year-old, who shared her faith with Rathbun, revealed, “Honestly, Jesus has been my help all this time. He is the one who lifts me up and gives me strength. Not only did He give me a new identity, He helped me, He healed me, He restored me.”

Roca continued, “There are days when my heart cries for Ben’s departure, but He fills my void, He restores it, and gives me the strength.” She also urged her followers to go offline. The reality star suggested, “If I could give a recommendation, it would be to turn off that TV. And talk to your creator and God. He waits for you with his arms open.”
When her husband’s death was announced, Roca confessed that she did not know how to put her feelings about the loss of her husband into words. “I love you more than anyone, I love you forever and ever and ever,” she wrote at the time. “I’m crying writing this but I still don’t know how to tell the internet about his private life and my private life.”
