Love Island USA fans have been buzzing since Nic Vansteenberghe and Olandria Carthen were spotted together at the wedding of Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Gossip site DeuxMoi shared photos of Nic and Olandria at the Malibu ceremony on Saturday, August 15. Plus, in a since-expired Instagram Story that was screenshotted by fans over the weekend, Nic shared a photo of a high-heeled shoe. The internet began speculating that it belonged to his ex, and many wondered if it meant that Nic and Olandria were back together.

Are Nic and Olandria back together?
After their wedding outing, Nic addressed whether or not he and Olandria were an item again. “I would love to tell you guys, but I’ll keep that private for now,” the 25-year-old told John Pascarella at the LIV Beach at Fountainebleau in Las Vegas, per a video posted by DeuxMoi. “We did enjoy ourselves tremendously at Karl and Jordan’s wedding last night. It was amazing.”
When Pascarella asked if Nic had advice for someone going through a breakup, he said, “Things will always get better. It’s rock bottom, but it’s about to climb.”
The reality star also said it was possible to be friends with an ex. “If you end healthily, you know, it’s cool. Sometimes it’s better to maybe not be friends, but in my case … we ended on a good note.”
Nic and Olandria didn’t end the show in an exclusive relationship, and when Swooon last caught up with them in July 2025, the second-place couple were optimistic about their future together. Several weeks later, the two appeared to confirm that they’ve made their relationship official.
In a September 2o25 TikTok video, for one, the couple participated in the “better be nice” social media trend, promoting the probiotic water brand Agua de Kefir. “My boyfriend’s gonna show you his favorite drink, and you better be nice,” Olandria says. (Naturally, fans immediately called out her word choice in the comments section. It was the first time she’d referred to Nic as her boyfriend.
A couple of days later, the duo attended the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, though they didn’t walk the red carpet together. Nic stopped for an interview with Complex, who asked whether or not Olandria really meant it when she called Nic her boyfriend. Nic left it in the hands of his Love Island USA partner: “She can confirm it when she comes down here in 20 minutes,” he said, smiling at the camera. “I can neither confirm nor deny.”

Nic and Olandria continued to make public outings together and appear on each other’s social media afterward, up until their July 2026 split. In fact, Nic appeared in Olandria’s 28th birthday weekend vlog, which was shared on July 12.
Why did Nic and Olandria break up?
When the news dropped, People‘s source explained, “The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection. They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible.”
The development came about a month after Olandria shared rare comments about her relationship with Cosmopolitan. “We don’t monetize our relationship or put it on display,” she said. “If you genuinely like spending quality time with somebody, it shouldn’t involve a camera every two seconds. We enjoy each other’s presence and do what normal people do: go out, have fun, and get to know each other. We go to dinner and watch movies at the actual movie theater. We hang out at his house in Florida. We actually took a ride on his dad’s bike. He literally got his drone and recorded me and Nic on the motorcycle. It was so cute.”
Olandria continued, “I’m never that invested in someone’s relationship, and I’m not living for the internet. I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do. Why does it matter if me and Nic are together? Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you?”
