‘Rivals’: Milo Callaghan Breaks Down What Seb Knows About Rupert & Taggie (VIDEO)

Rivals family, we know this hiatus has been as grueling as the slow burn between Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella Maclean). Season 2 is currently in production, so reliving the stellar first season has been a must. Naturally, the game-changing Season 1 finale lives rent-free in our brains. There are plenty of memorable moments, but there’s one finale scene that’s left us wondering.
Remember when Taggie and Rupert stare at each other from across the room? (Of course.) Everyone is seemingly oblivious to this intimate moment, except for maybe one person: Seb (Milo Callaghan). As Taggie and Rupert gaze longingly at one another, Seb looks down at Taggie and appears to look over at Rupert. Is Seb aware of what’s going on with his girl and Rupert? We went straight to Milo Callaghan for the answer.
“I think Seb knows everything,” Callaghan revealed at The Rainmaker‘s Season 1 premiere in New York City. “He knows everything. I think he’s smart. I think he has a full, promising career ahead of him, and I think his thing is investigative journalism, so I think there’s a scene in there somewhere.”

When we mentioned that we’re convinced Seb knew exactly what was happening Rupert and Taggie, he quipped, “I think he clocked it, too. I’m glad you do.” Seb said that he’s always fancied himself a spy, and that moment wouldn’t have been too obvious to miss! There was also that scene when Declan (Aidan Turner) freaked out when he saw Rupert and Taggie in The Scorpion. (The seatbelt wasn’t working!) “She’s her own person,” our very supportive feminist king Seb said.
Callaghan couldn’t divulge whether or not he’ll be back for the second season, which consists of 12 episodes and premieres in 2026. “You’ll have to watch and see,” he cryptically said. Seb was one of the Corininum employees who proudly left Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) behind to join Declan, Rupert, and Freddie’s (Danny Dyer) rival consortium, Venturer.
As the Rivals drought continues, you can catch the stellar Callaghan playing Rudy Baylor in the TV adaptation of John Grisham’s The Rainmaker, which premieres August 15 on USA Network. He stars alongside Lana Parrilla, John Slattery, Madison Iseman, P.J. Byrne, and more.
