Who Is Todd Chrisley’s Ex-Wife? Inside His First Marriage to Teresa Terry
Long before Todd Chrisley became a household name on his family’s reality show Chrisley Knows Best, he was married to another woman out of the public eye. Todd wed his now-wife, Julie Chrisley, in 1996, but before that, he and Teresa Terry were an item.
The two married in 1990 and separated in 1993 before divorcing in 1996. He then went on to marry Julie that May, just days before she gave birth to their first child.

Who is Todd Chrisley’s ex-wife Teresa Terry?
Since Teresa is not a public figure, little is known about her. She was Todd’s high school sweetheart, and they tied the knot after she got pregnant at age 19 (more on their kids below).
While Teresa mostly lives her life out of the spotlight, she spoke to DailyMail in 2014 and revealed that she had gotten remarried and had two more children. At the time, she was living in rural Oklahoma.
Why did Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry split?
After having two children in 15 months, things slowly started to fall apart, Teresa claimed. “We were both headstrong,” she told DailyMail. “He likes to control his environment. That is one part of the show that is no fiction and it drove me crazy.”
Teresa said that Todd’s need for perfection started to take a toll on her. “He had a mindset that everything had a place and everything had to be in place at all times,” she revealed. “He applied that to people as well. I like to put on a ball cap, put my hair in a ponytail and go out. But with him, your hair always had to be fixed and you had to be dressed to the tens. I grew tired of being constantly corrected and I would run my mouth.”
In 1994, Teresa filed a domestic violence complaint against her then-husband. She made multiple shocking accusations against Todd, including that he allegedly “battered” her and “wielded a knife threatening to kill her,” per DailyMail. She also accused Todd of “unlawful abduction,” claiming he refused to give her one of their children for two months.
As both Teresa and Todd fought for custody of the kids, he denied all of the accusations she made against him. They eventually came to a joint custody agreement.
Do Todd Chrisley and Teresa Terry have kids?
Yes, Todd and Teresa are parents to children Lindsie Chrisley and Kyle Chrisley. During her 2014 interview, Teresa revealed that her relationship with Lindsie was “strained” at the time.
Todd no longer has a relationship with Lindsie, as she helped prosecutors build a case against him before he was sentenced to prison for bank fraud and tax evasion in 2022. She said she visited him in prison at first, but has since stopped and has had “no contact.”

Kyle is also estranged from his father. “My dad has every reason not to speak to Kyle,” Savannah Chrisley said on her podcast in 2024. “Just because it’s your child doesn’t mean that you have to accept abuse. It doesn’t mean you have to accept manipulation and hate and all these things.”
Kyle has dealt with various legal issues in the past, and Todd and Julie have custody of his daughter, Chloe. Kyle has said he has tried to reach out to his father in the past few years, but he hasn’t gotten a response. “I don’t really know why, but he hasn’t responded to my emails and he doesn’t call,” Kyle told In Touch. “I was actually going to attend the hearing, but I was told my dad did not want me there. I believe someone even said they would have me ‘escorted out’ if I showed up.”
Despite their strained relationship, Kyle said he was “ecstatic” when Donald Trump pardoned his dad and Julie earlier this year.
