HGTV’s Erin Napier Shares Unexpected Love Story of Her Childhood Friend & a ‘Home Town’ Fan
Without even realizing she was doing it, Erin Napier set her childhood friend up with the woman he eventually married. The HGTV star attended the pair’s wedding earlier this year and recently shared the story of how they unexpectedly connected thanks to her Instagram page.
Brad Smith and his wife, Emily, owe their love story to the Napiers, and it all started with an episode of Home Town.
“Here’s a sweet story for you,” Erin wrote on her Instagram Story while sharing professional photos from Brad and Emily’s May wedding. “Remember Brad, our drummer bachelor friend? Emily saw his episode and commented on my post about his nice smile. He saw it. He’s not a bachelor anymore.”
Brad was on an episode of Home Town in 2024. He was looking to give his home a refresh after a recent divorce. During the episode, Erin revealed that she and Brad had known each other since they were children and were even once in a band together.

The photos that Erin reshared from the wedding were captioned, “Photographs from my friends Emily & Brad Smith’s Wedding- really glad @emilyfaith1985 would not take no for an answer 😊, and I got to spend a few hours being part of a wedding from a different point of view. God grant you many years!!!!”
Brad hard-launched his relationship with Emily in October 2024. He proposed just six months later in April 2025, and they tied the knot the following month. “Dinner with my Wife. @emilyfaith1985 ❤️,” Brad captioned a May 29 photo from the pair’s wedding night.
Of course, Erin and husband Ben Napier have a sweet love story of their own. They met as college students in 2004 and fell in love, eventually tying the knot in 2008 and going on to welcome two daughters together.
