‘Modern Family’ Star Eric Stonestreet Marries Lindsay Schweitzer in Surprise Wedding

The Modern Family crew just got a new member! Eric Stonestreet has married his girlfriend, Lindsay Schweitzer.
The actor made the surprise announcement on September 9, his 54th birthday. The couple said “I do” at their gorgeous Kansas City home.
Stonestreet posted a carousel of photos on Instagram, starting with a solo shot. “It’s my birthday and guess what I got,” he captioned the post. The second photo was one of Stonestreet and Schweitzer at their wedding. He wrote over the top of the photo, “I GOT MARRIED!”
Additional photos included one of the bride and groom kissing and a final shot of the newlyweds with “The Stonestreets” written over the top of it. Many of Stonestreet’s celebrity friends were surprised by the announcement in the comments section. Bethenny Frankel wrote, “NO WAY,” followed by a series of celebratory emojis. Octavia Spencer wrote, “Congratulations! So happy for you both.”
Stonestreet’s onscreen husband, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, had the best comment, though. “Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I’m so happy for you!!!!”
The couple’s home wedding had been in the works for quite some time. “I’ve said we’re building a house to host a wedding, and we’re still on track to do that,” Stonestreet told People in July. “We’re almost done with the house, and that’s been our plan all along.”
Stonestreet started dating Schweitzer, a pediatric nurse, in 2017. They met while attending the Big Slick charity weekend in Kansas City. Stonestreet is a Kansas City native.
Just two days before Stonestreet announced their wedding, the actor penned a sweet note to his now-wife. “You are beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of to do life with,” he began. “And your outside beauty doesn’t come close to the blood, guts, cells, water, molecules, tissue, bones, and organs that make up your insides. Rereading that, I probably could have just said, ‘to your inside beauty.'”
He added, “I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us and how many fun and lasting memories we create. Yous just the best. I love you and all your parts.” A wedding is certainly a lasting memory!
