Zoey Deutch & Jimmy Tatro Engaged! How Long They’ve Been Together & More Details
Rom-com royalty Zoey Deutch has found her happily ever after. The Set It Up star revealed that her longtime boyfriend, Jimmy Tatro, popped the question earlier this summer.
“Three months engaged to the love of my life,” she captioned an Instagram post on Sunday, September 28. Tatro proposed to the 30-year-old actress at sunset, according to the photos included in the post. The couple had a romantic beach picnic on their special day.
A slew of celebrities congratulated Deutch and Tatro in the comments section, including Riverdale actors Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, and Vanessa Morgan, as well as Patrick Schwarzenegger and Maude Apatow. Deutch’s mom, Back to the Future actress Lea Thompson, also got in on the action.
“Jimmy we love you so much and you guys are such a beautiful combination,” she wrote on Instagram. “Jimmy you are so funny kind and thoughtful. I am so glad Zoey and you have each other.”

Who is Jimmy Tatro?
Like his bride-to-be, Tatro is also in the entertainment biz. The 33-year-old started on YouTube, where he built up a successful comedy channel called LifeAccordingToJimmy. Since he created his account in 2011, Tatro has accumulated over three million followers. From there, he began his stand-up comedy career.
The California native added acting to his resume in 2013. His first credit was Adam Sandler‘s Grown Ups 2. You also might recognize him from 22 Jump Street and Netflix’s American Vandal series. In 2023, Deutch attended the premiere of Theater Camp on Tatro’s arm. He starred alongside Ben Platt and Molly Gordon in the movie.
Most recently, Tatro took a page out of Deutch’s book and starred in a rom-com. He was tapped, along with Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell, for 2025’s You’re Cordially Invited.
How long have Zoey Deutch and Jimmy Tatro been together?
In 2021, the actors used Valentine’s Day to announce their romance to the world. In an Instagram post, Tatro included several sweet photos of his then-girlfriend. Though it’s unclear how long they’d been together at that point, it means that they dated for at least four years before their engagement.

Since that first post, they’ve occasionally given fans glimpses of their romance online, and Deutch provided rare insight into their relationship in 2022, calling Tatro her “polar opposite” on the U Up? podcast.
“I would be so bored if I was dating someone who agreed with me on everything and thought everything in the same way as me — I’d be so bored by that,” she said.

It’s not known when or how exactly the actors met, but they probably knew each other well before their hard launch post in 2021.
