Which ‘Bridgerton’ Couple Has the Best Love Story? (POLL)

Ah, Bridgerton. It’s been over a year since we last got our fill of the romantic period drama, and needless to say, we are absolutely starving for more content. Can we at least know when Season 4 comes out, Netflix? Please and thank you!

We know that it’s likely at least a few months until Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Sophie’s (Yerin Ha) Cinderella-esque story hits screens, so what better way to satiate ourselves in the meantime than reflecting on seasons past? It’s mean of us to make you choose, Bridgerton fans, but we’re going to ask you to pick anyway: Which Bridgerton couple so far has the best love story?

Simon (Regé-Jean Page) and Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) were the pair that first made us fall in love with Bridgerton, so perhaps you think that their journey is the greatest. After Daphne puts herself on the marriage mart and is declared the “Diamond of the Season,” she pretends to court Simon, the Duke of Hastings, so that they both can escape societal pressures. Feelings ensue, and though their marriage comes about hastily, they fall in love even deeply afterward.

What about Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) in Season 2? At the start, Anthony is set on marrying someone suitable, and he tries to remove feelings from the process entirely. He lands on the season’s Diamond, Edwina (Charithra Chandran), but his head is turned more by her sister Kate, who hates them together. Enemies become lovers once the tension breaks. Now, Anthony couldn’t be any more besotted with his Viscountess.

There’s also Season 3 to consider, though one could argue that Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope’s (Nicola Coughlan) story extends across all three seasons. They begin as childhood friends, though they briefly turn into sort-of enemies when Penelope finds out Colin — her longtime crush — told his friends he would never court her. But when Season 3 rolls around, Colin decides to help Penelope find a husband, and he realizes she’s the perfect person for him, even if he was angry initially to find out she was Lady Whistledown.

Maybe tragic, doomed love is more your cup of tea. In that case, Charlotte and George from Bridgerton‘s spinoff could be your favorite. Their relationship starts off as an arranged marriage, but Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and King George (Corey Mylchreest) fall deeply in love as they get to know each other. They don’t necessarily have a happy ending as George’s mental state deteriorates. However, Charlotte stays by his side, even decades later.
