Sofia Richie had exciting news to share with fans this week: She’s expecting her second child! The model is pregnant with baby No. 2 and made the announcement by casually debuting her baby bump in an Instagram post.
Richie married husband Elliot Grainge in April 2023 after two years together. They wasted no time expanding their family, welcoming daughter Eloise in May 2024. Now, less than two years later, they’re gearing up to welcome another little addition.

Who is Sofia Richie’s husband?
Grainge is a music executive who became the CEO of Atlantic Records in 2024. His father, Sir Lucian Grainge, is the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group, so he’s been around the industry for years.
After growing up in the U.K., Grainge attended Northeastern University, then moved to Los Angeles, where he launched his own record label, 10K Projects, in 2016. In 2019, he invested in a management and marketing company that launched another label, Homemade Records. 10K went on to acquire that label in 2022.
10K joined Warner Music Group in 2023, and the following October, Grainge took over as CEO of the company’s Atlantic Music Group. He brought 10K into the Atlantic Music Group umbrella with him.
How did Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge meet?
Richie and Grainge knew each other for years before they started dating. Richie’s father, Lionel Richie, knew Grainge’s father due to their music industry connections, and Richie and Grainge were friends before their relationship turned romantic.
“We started off just as friends. I would always tell him, ‘Whoever you end up with is the luckiest girl.’ I thought, ‘That person is going to be really loved, appreciated, and worshipped,’” Richie once told Who What Wear. “And then I realized one day … why can’t that lucky girl be me?”
Richie said Grainge “gave [her] a different feeling” when their relationship became romantic. “It was a feeling of safety,” she shared. “It was the feeling of really being appreciated. I knew when we started dating that he was my husband. It wasn’t a ‘Do you think one day he’ll propose?’ It was like, ‘This is my husband, 100%.’ I felt this love for him that I never felt ever in my life.”
Richie was just 23 years old when she and Grainge got engaged. He is nearly five years older than her and was 27 when he popped the question.
How long did Sofia Richie and Justin Bieber date?
Richie’s first high profile relationship was with Justin Bieber. The two dated for six weeks back in 2016 while Bieber was on a break from his relationship with Selena Gomez.
Despite the romance lasting less than two months, Richie and Bieber made major headlines due to their age difference (she was just 17 at the time and he was five years older) and public flaunting of their relationship. Fans of Bieber and Gomez’s romance didn’t shy away from critiquing the relationship, which eventually prompted Bieber to respond.

“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate,” he wrote on Instagram.. “This is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
The drama really escalated, though, when Gomez jumped into the comments section, writing, “If you can’t handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol- It should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did.”
After Bieber clapped back, “It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love,” Gomez responded, “Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.” Bieber went on to accuse his ex of cheating on him with Zayn Malik, which she had previously denied.
E! reported that Bieber was the one to end the relationship with Richie. “It was super-hot and heavy, and because Justin doesn’t want a relationship right now, he wanted to cool things down,” a source told the outlet.
What is Sofia Richie and Scott Disick’s age gap?
From 2017 to 2020, Richie was in a very public and controversial relationship with Scott Disick. Disick is 15 years Richie’s senior and had welcomed three kids with Kourtney Kardashian before the two started dating. When the two got together, Richie was 19 and Disick was 34.
The relationship between Richie and Disick ultimately ended because she gave him an “ultimatum,” he revealed on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. At the time, Disick and Kardashian were trying to maintain a close relationship as they coparented their kids. Richie even joined them on family vacations, but Disick’s friendship with his ex began to take a toll.

In a confessional, he added, “I’m never going to give up my relationship with Kourtney and the coparenting we have. Nothing in a million years will be worth what we have.” However, the two have drifted apart amid Kardashian’s relationship with Travis Barker, whom she married in 2022.

Richie briefly dated Jaden Smith in 2012 when they were teenagers. The two sparked relationship rumors again in 2020 following her split from Disick. They were photographed holding hands on the beach over Labor Day Weekend.
However, Smith shut down rumors that they were romantically involved at the time. “Me and Sofia have been friends for, like, 10 years,” he said on Ryan Seacrest‘s radio show. “We’ve been going to the beach pretty consistently for 10 years, too. “Yeah, we’re just homies and we love each other and it was fun.”
