‘Love Is Blind’: Jordan Keltner on the Breakup Pact That Led to Megan Walerius Split
[Warning: The following contains MAJOR spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 9.]
According to Love Is Blind Season 9’s beloved single dad Jordan Keltner, he would have “100%” said yes to marrying his fiancée Megan Walerius. However, as their wedding day drew closer and Megan’s apprehension grew, Jordan started to see the bigger picture. Eventually, he was finally able to admit to himself, “Well, I don’t want to marry someone that doesn’t want to marry me.”
Heading into Episode 12 of Love Is Blind Season 9, fans were convinced that Jordan and “Sparkle” Megan would tie the knot. But Megan shocked fans by breaking things off with Jordan the night before their wedding. Looking back, Jordan revealed to Swooon, “We were getting the prenups and stuff squared away. I think the wedding was on a Saturday, and on Friday afternoon, she called me. She was just like, ‘Hey, I can’t do this.'”
When Jordan sat down with Swooon to break down their split, he confessed that he wasn’t as shocked by her decision as we were. He confessed, “I’m a chronic underthinker. She checked every single one of my boxes. So I was like, ‘I’m 100% saying yes.’ But it just seemed like she would, day by day, as we’re getting closer to the wedding, she just started having slight hesitations. And then I was like, ‘Oh, shucks. ‘”

As it turns out, Jordan and Megan had a “pact” to call things off “then and there” if either of their hesitation got too extreme. He explained, “We have an agreement not to get everyone up to the altar and say no because I think we both felt that would be like a humiliating factor.” While it was Megan who pulled the plug, he was thankful that Megan called off their engagement before their big day. “I’m glad she was vocal about that,” he confessed. “The last thing I want to do is obviously go through a divorce and drag my son through a divorce.”
Even so, Jordan looked back at the day Megan called things off and confessed, “I don’t know if it was my proudest moment.” He explained, “I just don’t think anyone really understood how thin I was spread. I had a leadership role in my job, so I put in crazy hours. We’re filming a ton. I think we had one off day where we weren’t filming, and that was obviously like, let’s go out with Luca. Let’s get out as a family and hang out and do things. So I was just spread so thin.” For that reason, he cut their conversation short. “I was just calling for my producer,” he revealed. “I was like, I have nothing else to say. I just want to go home and be with my son and sleep.”

During their engagement, Jordan made the careful decision to introduce Megan to his son, Luca. Of course, letting Luca know about their split made the breakup even harder. According to Jordan, he “ripped the Band-Aid off,” explaining the situation and letting Luca know, “You’re probably not going to see Megan again.” While Luca took it really well, Jordan explained, “It sucks we put him through that. That’s one of my biggest regrets about the whole experiment.” He later added, “I won’t be introducing him to anyone anytime soon, for sure.”
Jordan’s time on Love Is Blind didn’t just change how he navigates dating as a single dad. He made it clear that the experiment transformed how he will approach future relationships. He revealed, “I understand the high expectations women have and deserve. I just want to be open and honest.” When it comes to what he learned from Megan, he shared, “She truly taught me how to treat people.”
