Although the two have been notoriously private about their relationship, they’ve attended a number of red carpet events over the years and are definitely going strong.
How did Adam Brody and Leighton Meester meet?
Brody and Meester went public with their romance in 2013. However, they first met years before that. Their first introduction happened between when Brody’s show The O.C. was “coming to an end” (February 2007) and Meester’s hit series Gossip Girl was about to begin (September 2007).
“Josh Schwartz produced both shows. The first time we met, that whole cast was eating at Canter’s [in Los Angeles], and I lived at Canter’s for, like, my entire 20s,” Brody shared on the Unqualified podcast in 2021. “I was leaving, and he introduced all of us and then [I] bumped into her, like, two or three times over the next couple of years.”
Brody and Meester both starred in the 2011 film The Oranges, but he was “seeing someone” else at that time. “We met kind of through mutual work friends off and on,” Brody shared. “We didn’t get together until about a year after that movie, when I was single.”
During an appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, Brody admitted, “I was smitten instantly. And I was, you know, smitten for a long time. I didn’t get to know her for many years after.”
In November 2013, the couple got engaged, ultimately tying the knot just months later.

Yes, Brody and Meester are parents to two children. Their daughter, Arlo, was born in 2015. In September 2020, Brody confirmed that his wife had given birth to baby No. 2, a son, whose name has not been revealed yet.
“I get the joy and the pleasure of watching him become a father,” Meester told Access Hollywood of her husband. “He’s everything that I imagined he would be as a father when we [first] decided to have kids. It is really amazing he has become that and [is] becoming every day more so.”
