Adam Brody Praises ‘Darling’ Wife Leighton Meester in Sweet Critics Choice Awards Speech
Every millennial’s favorite crossover couple, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, made an appearance at the Critics Choice Awards on February 7. The stunning pair had been out of the public eye ever since their house burned down in the Southern California wildfires last month. The couple stepped out publicly for the first time to celebrate Brody’s accomplishment. He won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in Nobody Wants This.
When Brody got up to the stage, Brody gave his “darling” wife the sweetest shoutout during his acceptance speech. “Thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family,” he said to Meester, who blew him a kiss. “Love you with all my heart,” he added.
Turning the prestigious ceremony into a date night, the two were nicely clad for the occasion. Stunning in a nude Dior gown, Meester proved to have the same flair of an Old Hollywood starlet’s presence. Brody looked dapper in a classic black suit, complementing his wife.
The Gossip Girl actress and The O.C. alum tied the knot on February 15, 2014. They’ll be celebrating their 11th anniversary right around Valentine’s Day.
Throughout the span of their marriage, they have welcomed two kids, Arlo Day, and another son whose name has not yet been revealed.
Earlier this year, the duo attended the Golden Globes together. Meester and Brody will likely attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23. He is up for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series award for Nobody Wants This.
Both parties have been known to gush about their spouse. Brody admitted, “We’re each other’s biggest fans,” to The Hollywood Reporter.
When Meester was asked about the steamy viral kiss in the Netflix rom-com at the Golden Globes, she nonchalantly told Access Hollywood, “How do I feel about the kiss? I think it’s great.” Brody quickly quipped, “She taught me.” Joking alongside her husband, she shared, “I taught him everything he knows,” to which Brody added, “She gets the good stuff. That’s not even the A material.”
