- The couple got engaged at the end of Vassos’ Golden Bachelorette season.
Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple have once again found themselves at the center of split rumors due to their recent social media activity. Fans noticed that they haven’t been posting together much on Instagram, leading to speculation that they might have broken up.
With comments flooding in on Vassos’ Instagram page, she responded to one to set the record straight about where things stand.
In response to someone who asked, “Is Joan still dating?”, she replied, “I’m still with Chock so no dating other than him!” The last time Vassos and Chapple appeared together in an Instagram post was back in mid-April when he posted about their trip to New York City.
With Chapple still running his insurance business in Kansas, and Vassos living closer to her children and grandchildren in Maryland, they have been navigating a long-distance relationship since meeting on The Golden Bachelorette in 2024.
And although they haven’t posted together recently, Chapple confirmed in the comments section of his own Instagram that they were together at the end of May. On his May 19 post, someone wondered about where Joan has been, and Chapple replied, “She’ll be in my arms next week.”
Many fans have also jumped to Vassos and Chapple’s defense, with comments such as, “Just because they are not seen together doesn’t mean they are not [together],” and, “She’s allowed to have a life outside of chock while dating him!’
Chapple and Vassos got engaged on The Golden Bachelorette, but are taking their time with walking down the aisle. In February, they said in an Instagram video that they’re looking at 2027 for a wedding date, as one of Vassos’ kids is already getting married in 2026.
“[We have] elected to not compete with them,” Vassos explained. “[We’re going to] let them have their year.”
And if another one of the kids decides to get married in 2027 (Vassos is a mom of four, and Chapple has two children), they don’t mind pushing the date again. “We have grown kids, and we just happen to be falling into that part of their lives,” Vassos shared. “We’ll get married sometime when the kids aren’t getting married.”
