Will ‘The Golden Bachelor’ Return for Season 3? Everything We Know So Far
ABC flipped the script when they premiered a brand-new dating show called The Golden Bachelor in 2023. After more than two decades of documenting singles trying to find love on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, the network took the franchise a step further by giving older people the same opportunity.
The show premiered in September 2023 with Gerry Turner‘s season. He went on to get engaged and married to Theresa Nist, although they eventually divorced. After a season of The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, The Golden Bachelor returned with Mel Owens at the helm in September 2025.

Will there be a Golden Bachelor Season 3?
So far, ABC has not confirmed plans for a new season of The Golden Bachelor, but the franchise certainly does not seem to be slowing down. With Golden cast members added to Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise this year, it’s clear that viewers are interested and invested in these love stories, so it’s likely that the show will return.
When does The Golden Bachelor Season 3 premiere?
Since a new season has not been confirmed yet, there is no premiere date at this time. However, should the programming schedule stay the same, the show wouldn’t come back until fall 2027. So far, ABC has aired one Golden season per year, switching off between The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette.
If the Golden franchise continues, a new Golden Bachelorette season would likely air in fall 2026, followed by The Golden Bachelor Season 3 in fall 2027.
Who is The Golden Bachelor Season 3 lead?
A lead will not be announced until closer to the premiere date, should the show get picked up for another season. Owens’ casting was announced in April 2025, three months before he began filming, and five months before the season premiered.
While Season 1 Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos was chosen from the group of women on Turner’s Golden Bachelor season, Owens was not formerly part of the franchise before he was selected as the lead. It’s unclear if ABC will go with another new face or choose someone from The Golden Bachelorette if there is a Season 3.
