If you ever go to Sex and the City trivia night, call Melissa Peterman. The Haul Out the Halloween star can recite the show’s lore from memory. She’s just like us!
Peterman and her costar Wes Brown stopped by Swooon’s office to play a round of Knock Your Blocks Off: Swooon Edition, and the first question (and Brown’s reaction) set Peterman off about Sex and the City. Is she Team Aidan (John Corbett) or Team Big (Chris Noth)?
The Happy’s Place star quickly recalled how Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) cheated on Aidan with Big, Pete the dog got lost, and Big died on a Peloton. “She gives herself a facial before she calls 9-1-1,” Peterman quipped. “It just seemed to take a while.”
Peterman admitted she was torn over the decision. “Is there a wrong answer?” Brown asked. Peterman chimed in, “I’m Team Aidan. Even though I loved Big. Big was the mythical guy. I don’t think she was ever supposed to get Big. We weren’t even supposed to know his first name. He was just Mr. Big. He was that one guy. But she wasn’t supposed to end up with him. It was Aidan.”
Brown and Peterman continued their playful riffing as they continued to play our Swooon version of Knock Your Blocks Off. When they were prompted with the movie or TV couple with the best chemistry, Peterman sweetly told Brown, “Well, I feel like I should say you and Lacey [Chabert] have amazing chemistry in all those movies. You really do.”
Her next pick was Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) from The Office. “Because to me, that felt like the realest chemistry.” They were “friends that were falling in love” and had a sense of humor.
Brown said Will (Eric McCormack) and Grace (Debra Messing) from the titular comedy series. Peterman approved of his pick because Will and Grace had great “best friend chemistry.”
First dates became a topic of discussion, and Brown revealed that he went out with his wife, Amanda, for the first time at party thrown by Lance Bass. “He introduced us,” Brown said. A surprised Peterman said, “Lance Bass was at my baby shower.” She then added, “Lance Bass is a bridge between all of Hollywood.”
After the Hallmark stars knocked down our heart-shaped tower, they had one more question to answer: Were Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) on a break? In unison, they both agreed the Friends characters were on a break.
