Morning Joe couple Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski love spending all of their time together. The married hosts start their weekdays off by hosting their four-hour morning show, which is entering a new chapter on MS NOW.
“We’re together 24/7, and that really works for us,” Brzezinski told People. While they may know everything about each other after being married for seven years, Scarborough admitted he was stunned by his wife’s very particular habit that he discovered after they wed in 2018.
“When we first got married, I had no idea that Mika watched cable news 24 hours a day,” Scarborough revealed. “The first day we were cohabitating, I walk in and I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’ She’s flipping from channel to channel to channel and catastrophizing over what [the other] channels are saying.”
Scarborough pointed out that he’s the “exact opposite” when it comes to watching cable news — especially when he’s off the clock. “I do the show and then I’m off… You have to get some distance, get some perspective, and have a better understanding,” he said.
In the years since they said “I do,” Brzezinski has helped her husband get a better understanding of being on time to work. Scarborough would frequently show up late in the early days of their show, but ever since he married Brzezinski, he hasn’t been late. “She pulls me out of the bed and… says, ‘You need to stick your head under the sink,'” Scarborough revealed.
Brzezinski was married to James Hoffer, with whom she shares two children, for over 20 years. Scarborough has been married twice — first to Melanie Hinton and then to Susan Warren. He has two kids with each of his ex-wives.
Scarborough and Brzezinski will celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary on November 24, 2018. The couple’s nuptials took place at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
