If you’ve been watching 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, you’ll know that one of the most memorable moments of Season 7 was when Jenny Slatten made spaghetti for her husband Sumit Singh’s family in India. In an exclusive interview with Swooon, Jenny revealed how she really felt about her spaghetti mishap.
This season, Jenny and Sumit, who were featured on Seasons 1-3 of The Other Way, returned to the series to document their major move — into Sumit’s parents’ home. Their first night living with his family, Jenny made dinner, cooking a big pot of spaghetti for his parents, brother, and sister-in-law. Jenny proudly told viewers, “Since it’s the woman’s duty to cook, I’ve offered to cook dinner for everyone tonight.” Unfortunately, her thoughtful, handmade dinner was not as well-regarded as one would have hoped. In short, Sumit’s family did not like it.
When Jenny sat down with Swooon, she laughed while telling us, “Actually, I make really good spaghetti!” In her opinion, the environment was to blame for her recipe’s poor reviews. “At that moment, I was under pressure. I had to feed the family.”
Here’s what she told us about the recipe: “I just had a jar of spaghetti sauce. I cooked the noodles, poured the sauce on the noodles, and that was it. There was no secret ingredient at all.” We hope you took notes on that complicated recipe, 90 Day fans! With a recipe so good, she told us, “No wonder they didn’t like it.”
During the second episode of the season, Sumit’s mom told Jenny, “I didn’t like the taste. I didn’t like it. I didn’t get what you made.” Sumit laughed, translating, “She said, ‘I couldn’t understand what was that.'”

But don’t worry, because Jenny has had her spaghetti redemption. She revealed to Swooon, “I have tried again, and everyone loves it… Except his mom. She won’t eat it.” According to Jenny, her mother-in-law is a “hard nut to crack.”
