Not only was 2025 a big year for Good Morning America, but also for host Robin Roberts.
Roberts helped the ABC morning show celebrate its milestone 50th anniversary in November 2025. A few months prior, she marked a milestone of her own by celebrating her and wife Amber Laign’s 20th anniversary as a couple. So, it’s only fitting that the couple rang in 2026 with a sweet new photo of themselves.
“After an awesome dinner at @redshoeislandbistro we made it back home in time to watch the ball drop with @lil_man_lukas,” Laign captioned a joint Instagram post of herself and Roberts with their dog, Lukas. “As you can see he is thrilled 🙃Happy New Year! #LoveWontQuitIn2026.”
Roberts and Laign were all smiles as they snuggled up and watched TV with their pup. Roberts kept things casual in a white tank top and glasses, while Laign got into the New Year’s spirit by sporting a black bedazzled baseball cap.
Fans sent the couple New Year’s well-wishes in the post’s comments. “Happy New Year Robin and Amber have a healthy 2026,” one Instagram user wrote, while another added, “I LOVE your family themes/motto every new year! Blessings to you and Amber and your family ❤️.”
“Happy New Year Amber, Robin and Lil man Lucus. Wide eyed and bushy tailed ready for 2026 ❤️,” someone else shared. A different user wrote, “Happy New Year filled with laughter and love, lovebirds! ❤️❤️❤️.”

Another person quipped, “Happy New Year!! The look on the face of your puppy says it all!” Someone separate commented, “Happy, healthy to you both and anybody who loves you! 🍾🥂.”
The post — originally shared on Laign’s private profile — marks one of her rare appearances on Roberts’ Instagram page. Last month, another of Laign’s posts made its way onto Roberts’ profile, when she posted a video of the couple’s tropical getaway with GMA‘s Sam Champion and his husband, Rubem Robierb.
“If perfection was bottled up this would be the day! ☀️🌴🌊,” she captioned the December 22 clip, which featured footage of the group spending a sunny day on a boat. Champion hopped in the post’s comments, writing, “I loved watching this! So many great moments of the day! (like when Rubem disappeared in the water😂).”
Back in July, Roberts gave fans an inside look at how she and Laign celebrated their 20th anniversary as a couple via Instagram. The couple commemorated their relationship milestone by traveling to Rwanda for the 2025 Giants of Africa Festival, which celebrates sports, education, entertainment, community-building, and more.
“We’re in #Rwanda as guests of @inmuwetrust_ & @giantsofafrica celebrating young basketball players across Africa. Every last Saturday in the month in Rwanda is a national day of service!!👏🏽,” Roberts captioned a July 27 snap of herself and Laign working on a construction project. “Wonderful way for the two of us to celebrate 20 years as a couple…it certainly has been an adventure! 💕#goafestival.”
Roberts later shared an Instagram video of Laign dancing at the festival, writing, “No matter where we are in the world…she hears music and she’s just gotta dance! Never a dull moment with this one. #happywifehappylife❤️ #goafestival.”
